A big thanks to everyone involved with Infendo. Today we HTML’d post number 500 so hopefully you’ve enjoyed the ride thus far (see past suggestions). Here’s to 500 more in a harder, better, faster, and stronger way. If you like what we do, shout it out in the comments, tell us how to improve, or what your favorite post has been. Gratzi!
Other than the now famous “I’d rather not talk [about playing games without a TV] right now” quote from Miyamoto, I really liked what he said to Business Week about games being fun and sparking emotions. I’ve never seen emotion in a game like I had while playing Wind Waker. Isn’t that why we all play games, for fun or to spark emotions? Are major developers leading us...
Nintendo will officially launch their wifi site on November 7. With the launch will come information goodness in the form of how your DS will function with the wireless network, hotspots around the nation, and game questions. Then the real fun begins November 14 when Mario Kart DS is released. Ladies and gentlemen, start you engines. [Source: DS-X2]
Marvelous Interactive, the Japanese developer of the arguably unique ‘Harvest Moon’ series, has announced a new title for the DS, known as Rune Factory. In what is described as “Harvest Moon where you wield a sword” by producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto, this game will allow you to capture monsters, raise them on your farm, and then add them to your adventuring party. It’s ...
2K games has announced a current generation console video game based on the highly anticipated DaVinci Code film directed by Ron Howard. Both are based on Dan Brown’s smashingly popular, all-time bestseller. Additional game details have yet to be released but if it’s anything like the book, expect a good one. While I prefer the author’s earlier works such as Digital Fortress, Dec...
Famitsu has released some new Super Mario Bros. DS scans along with some additional information. Apparently, Mario & Co. will be able to wear koopa shells a la backpack style to achieve different power-ups and the game will also include and cooperative 2 player wireless mode. Where do I sign up? No word yet on a release date, but expect it sometime in 2006. Sooner than later would be preferred...
I have no idea what this is suppose to be and frankly and don’t’ even want to know. It’s just Photoshopped so poorly. Apparently it’s some kind of roll-up screen for Revolution controllers. Pay special attention to the awesome lightening rays shooting from the front of the bulky Revolution. Not to mention having four of these mini screens scattered all across your living ro...
ARS Technica has a piece looking forward into the much hyped next generation. The article is mostly focused on educated guesses into what the Revolution’s guts will likely be. The author explains why the Revolution will probably have better hardware than their competitors think. It also states why it will be more power efficient, developer friendly, and better equipped to handle physics, AI,...
For those who don’t know, Shigesato Itoi was the producer of Mother and Mother 2, the Japanese name for the Earthbound series on the NES. Now his website has an odd image from a live webcam looking through a fish tank at a large Mr. Saturn doll. Creepy. Some are saying that there may be some Earthbound news on the horizon, but the webcam reveals nothing. You can find the video here.
Marvelous Interactive has announced that a next generation version of their popular farming sim is in the works and due to release next year. They didn’t specify much so we know nothing of its premise or platform, but we do know that it’s gonna be online. Harvest Moon has called Nintendo platforms home in recent years and has an online DS iteration in development for the same year, so&...
Vlad at Joystiq has found a nice dig on How Nintendo Revolution Works over at the always useful How Stuff Works website. If you’re a little behind on Revolution news, this should bring you up to speed in a comprehensive way. The article compiles information from IGN and ARS Technica that touches on subjects like how the controller works, the expected graphical power, and a system comparison ...
I’m gonna come right out and say it; nice graphics really do soup up a game. They are important to games despite what you might think. No they’re not the most important, but they can definitely add a nice touch of style to what you’re playing. Nintendo knows this, though they don’t use it to market their consoles. When I first played RE4 some 10 months ago, I literally stop...
