Nintendo rep. spills rupees on Skyward story

They’ve kept a strictly professional relationship for decades, but Link and Princess Zelda may soon have their Jim and Pam moment. Men don’t explore dungeons for nothing. According to the fan site Zelda Universe, the plot in the upcoming Zelda title Skyward Sword includes an openly romantic relationship between the two main characters, a first for the long-running franchise. Zelda Univ...

Celebrate Game Boy Advance’s 10th birthday today with these 10 games

Ten years ago to the day, Nintendo released the Game Boy Advance. Slightly more powerful than a Super Nintendo, the handheld was and still remains the epitome of sprite-based gaming. It’s awesome, even in a post Wii, DS, Xbox, and PS3 world. To commemorate, Nintendo Power this month named what they believe to be the system’s 10 best games, as follows:

Impressions: Shield Pose

Out of all the game demos available for Wii U at this week’s E3, I hope that Shield Pose is the one to become a retail release because of it’s unique rhythm based gameplay. The basic premise of the title was a simple one; you must use the Wii U tablet controller as a shield to block incoming suction-cup  arrows from the onscreen pirate characters. To achieve the highest possible sc...

Check these out: Every Wii trailer Nintendo showed this week

Nintendo headlined E3 with Wii U this week. But they did show a few Wii games, some of which look like a lot of fun. Although not enough to keep Wii owners interested until the release of Wii U next year, here’s everything Nintendo showed for Wii this week:

Impressions: Heroes of Ruin

The world learned of Heroes of Ruin’s existance right before E3 via the Facebook page of the games developer N-Space. The 3DS title is very reminisant of dungen crawling games such as Diablo and feel right at home on Nintendo’s handheld. In the E3 build availible at the show, I was given the option of choosing either a mele and a ranged class , but that was only the beginning of the cu...

Impressions: Star Fox 64 3D

I can honestly say that before E3 I didn’t expect much from the remastered version of Star Fox 64 for the Nintendo 3DS. After all, I waited until the the final day of the show to get my hands on the title because of the sheer amount of stuff to see at the show. Why would I waste my precious time at the show with a game I played over a decade ago? Turns out that I couldn’t have been mor...

Impressions: Ghost Recon Online

Ghost Recon Online was the only Wii U, title on display that truly showed how the Wii U could enhance a :core: game in a positive way. The game controls just like you would expect any dual analog stick shooter to control with the added benefit of having the tablet screen displaying an onscreen map to the player. The tablet screen is used in a couple of unique ways  and it was my first experienc...

Impressions:Battle Mii

Battle Mii, much like Chase Mii, was an interesting concept but ultimately was nothing more than a tech demo. Nonetheless, the game was fun to play even if there wasn’t much to it at the end of the day. In Battle Mii, one player is in control of the Wii U tablet which is used to control a gunship. To aim the player must move the Wii U tablet to control the ships cross-hair, with navigation o...

Impressions: Chase Mii

Chase Mii instantly reminded me of the first ever Gamecube to Gameboy Advance connectivity title Pac-Man Vs. The concept is a simple one; one player is in control of the Wii U tablet controller and has the ability to move Mario around a labyrinth like environment while four other players control different colored toad characters with the Wii remote trying to tag Mario. The player with the Wii U ...

“Strictly Hand Held Is The Style I Go”

At first I was extremely excited about the Wii U. I came in a little late to that part of the E3 presentation and thought that it was simply an extension of the current Wii platform – a “New Controller” to connect to an existing console that providing some amazing new feature somehow. How smart of Nintendo to latch on to their existing installation base of more users than any con...

Someone’s excited about Zelda’s 25th anniversary

As seen yesterday at the Nintendo press conference.
