Nintendo’s official website adds “The Reviews Are In” page

This morning I was surprised and intrigued by the appearance of a new, rather vague, page on Nintendo’s official site called “The Reviews Are In.” Clicking on it, I found it’s another attempt by Nintendo to generate interest in its Wii U and Nintendo 3DS gaming systems. The page has a simple black/gray background with various quotes and scores plucked from Wii U/3DS game re...

How a 3D Zelda fan (me) feels about playing the top-down A Link Between Worlds

I am a Zelda fan for life. I grew up playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the old N64 that belonged to my huge family (8 siblings). Strangely, I can’t remember when I beat the game for the first time: in fact, I don’t even remember things like struggling through the water temple for the first time or (SPOILER ALERT) finding out that Sheik was really Zelda in disguise for the...

Off-TV play via the Wii U GamePad and backward compatibility with Wii are among Matt Peckham’s 10 reasons to pick up a Wii U over PS4 or Xbox One this holiday season. His opinion article over at TIME Tech is one of seemingly few that shed a positive light on the Wii U: “The Wii U doesn’t have quite as many run-out-and-buy games as we kick off its second year, but its best and brightest...
