The Dynamics of Game Development

What’s the difference between a game publisher and a game developer? My guess is that a publisher funds and oversees the game while the development house employs the programmers and designers to build the desired result. If that is the case, why would Nintendo, in the case of Minish Cap outsource the development to Flagship (Capcom) rather than develop it with one of their in-house teams? No...

Perrin Kaplan on Wi-Fi Commercial

Perrin Kaplan, VP of NOA talks with News.com about the new Wi-Fi DS commercial. Nothing new but still an interesting read. Can’t wait… Read On

EA Sequels Galore

Is EA the world’s biggest game publisher, or the world’s biggest sequel maker? The next 25/26 games they will release are sequels. Talk about a creative drop off. Sure, EA has made some good games, but this is exactly why the gaming industry is becoming just like boring, non-talent, mainstream Hollywood. Even if you don’t like them, the gaming world needs Nintendo. What do you th...

Inside Revolution

Next Generation has a nice article on Nintendo and why they are always listed after Sony and Microsoft (Sony, Microsoft, & Nintendo always seems to be the order). They say that if anyone can truly revolutionize the gaming industry, it’s Nintendo. I kindly disagree with the last paragraph in the article though. Remember mass media, Nintendo is the most cash rich (excluding OS software) an...

Let The Downloads Begin

Nintendo is debuting their DS demo download service today in Japan. The first two games offered will be Jump Super Stars and Nintendogs. The demos are available FREE to download and will remain playable as long as your DS is powered on. Now word on a US/Euro release for the service though. Nintendo = Nifty [Source: Next Generation]

Review: Beyond Good & Evil (GC)

Okay, I finished this game a few weeks ago, and in lieu of your past suggestions, realized I needed to post a review. So here goes, Infendo style. Beyond Good & Evil is such a good game. It was a “dark horse” released in December of 2003, so it got lost in all the hustle and bustle of Christmas. The story is straight forward. Secret aliens take over your home dubbed Hillys, and it&...

Leaked Revolution Ad 2?

Again, this was sent to us from an unconfirmed source via email and is pure speculation. (The Revolution seems to be getting a lot of that this summer) Note the Summer 2006 date contradicts the first Revolution ad leak that mentioned a March 2006 release. This thing looks dang sophisticated, even more than the first one, but personally I think it’s got Photoshop written all over it. I could ...

Revolution Tech Demo Pics?

[Update: Fake-ola as proven by Joystiq. How close do you think the actual specs could be to these though?] Our good friend NeuroMan42 just sent this in. Apparently, CVG has posted some images that are suppose to be from some Japanese Revolution tech demos. Who knows if they’re real or not, but none-the-less, they look really good. Click here to read the story and see the images.[Source: CVG ...
