So many possibilities”¦

I’ll try to keep this post from turning into a nauseating flood of gushing praise; after all, nothing’s perfect and the 3DS has some problems we’re all aware of’some temporary, some probably permanent. In the past week, however, I’ve experienced more wonderment and surprise from this little handheld than I’ve ever gotten from my first days with any other gaming device...

Nintendo news round-up: To no one’s surprise, we won’t be seeing a Nintendo phone, toaster, or dishwasher anytime soon

– This strikes me more as non-news, but apparently the fact that Sony and Microsoft create phones meant someone felt it would be pertinent to hound Nintendo about whether they’ll be dabbling in non-gaming tech such as cell phones themselves. To my endless relief, the answer was a resounding no, with Reggie Fils-Aime stating “We have no desire to get into telephony.” I say, ...

I think we all know what the 3DS needs

Mii. As in, me. That’s a play on words, see. If you’d like to raise the bar’if not the battery life’for your Nintendo 3DS, consider adding the ginger half of Infendo Radio to your fancy new handheld. Thanks to the wonders of UPC QR codes, you can import my Mii, giving you a visual aid for the magic we weave via the podcast medium. That is, if you want to. I’m having too much fun ...

Want a free Pokemon?

Still trying to catch them all? Yeah, so am I. Even though my DS now has a 3 in front of it, I can’t help but pop in my copy of Pokemon Black to continue my creature catching adventure. To gear up for the launch of the Pokemon Global Link (and perhaps as a sorry to fans for delaying it), Nintendo has announced that they will be giving away a free Eevee evolution Pokemon to all that play an o...

Help me choose my wife’s next DS game

My wife doesn’t play many games ’ maybe 2-3 per year, if that. When she does, she prefers the DS. Here are some of the games she’s most enjoyed in recent years: Picross 3D Bejeweled Tetris/Dr. Mario Sudoku Phoenix Wright (although her interest in that waned) As you can see, she likes puzzle games. But she doesn’t like Professor Layton. I suspect she doesn’t care for story-d...

Poll – First Nintendo handheld that you owned?

Sounds like a lot of you have been very enthusiastic about the 3DS, but we’re curious … {democracy:140}

Review: Face Raiders is almost reason enough to buy a 3DS

One of the 3DS’s best surprises is its sense of humor. A lighthearted, playful atmosphere runs through all the built-in software, from Mii Plaza to the Music Player to all the AR games–but it reaches new heights in its Ace-Up-the-Sleeve, Face Raiders. This is an odd one to review; if you’ve bought a 3DS, you already own the game. If you haven’t made the jump yet, then Face ...

History of Nintendo’s handhelds

Gamepro has a great piece up about Nintendo’s long history in the handheld market. Noticeably absent is the Game & Watch series, but everything else is there. I can remember paying a ridiculous amount at my local import shop to have a Game Boy Light imported from Japan, only for the Game Boy Color to release less then a year later. Go brush up on your handheld history in-between 3DS ...

Face Raiders mug shots!

Upon my initial boot up of the 3DS, I just had to try out the cool Face Raiders app that come pre-installed on every 3DS. After taking pictures of everyone I live with (which includes my girlfriend and 2 cats), I ran out of faces to raid. Have you ran into the same problem readers? If so, I’m here to help! Click on to see which faces I find most compelling to riddle with tennis balls”¦.in 3D...

Meeting a strangers Mii with StreetPass

I have been toting my 3DS around with me everywhere I go, just for the opportunity to meet someone else’s Mii via StreetPass. Yesterday it finally happened at, of all places, the grocery store. After finally experiencing this, I have to see it’s a really neat feature! Plus his Mii helped kill a ghost on my quest to free my king. Have you had an unexpected StreetPass encounter yet?

Having problems doing a system update on your 3DS? Here’s the solution!

“An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted.” This message keeps popping up on my 3DS, despite getting a message on Sunday saying a system update, including an OK Go 3D video, is now available. Checking the Nintendo support forums, it doesn’t seem like there’s a solution yet. Anyone else having this problem? Were you able to resolve it? Soluti...
