MTV has previewed the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The verdict? Like Contra, it’s crazy demanding. “New Super Mario Bros. on the Wii is going to teach you a lesson in humility’it’s really hard,” writes Russ Frushtick. “Arguably the most hardcore Mario game you’ve ever played.” Good thing weenies will be able to turn on the auto-pilot mode.
I shudder to think where video games would be today without Wii. There would still be games worth playing, but the focus on control, new ideas, and the realization of fresher experiences wouldn’t be as pronounced as they are now. Like d-pads and analog sticks, motion control is now standard. Well, sort of. While Sony and Microsoft are expected to launch their motion controlling gadetry for P...
Forget for a moment the play mechanics, RPG elements and side scrolling; why can’t more games, on all consoles, simply look like Muramasa: Demon Blade these days?
I guess I hold grudges or something—or at the very least I’m a stubborn, cynical bastard—because I can’t quite let go of the Wii Vitality Sensor.
It’s been out for 3 months now and there’s only a few games supporting it, but this week we want to know: {democracy:97}
There’s something charming about listening to developers who are genuinely excited about their game. The exuberance with which they discuss their work is infectious, and while they gush like freckle-faced tee ballers being handed shiny plastic trophies, it’s almost impossible not to drop the hard-nosed editorial facade and share a little smile. Hey Infendo, I recently found the hires version of the Epic Mickey game informer cover. This of course doesn’t have any of the text on it, and it is at a high resolution of 1920 x 1147. You can download the wallpaper here
Spooky looking game drops three days after Halloween on Nov 3. Is this on your radar?
The GameCube controller’s A button was really good too, but the Wii’s A button is perfect. Who doesn’t love mashing this thing!?
Today for Youtube Tuesday I have trailers for two popular games. The first one is Paperboy, in what appears to be a coming of age type design. The second is Mario Paint, a movie that seems to be about falling into madness and being lost in art. They’re somewhat disturbing so viewer discretion is advised.
When a company mentions that their game is going to be playable online on the Wii, a lot of fans start to question wither it is going to have friend codes or finally be the solution to what many of you consider to be a problem with online Wii gaming. Capcom is thinking just that, as Chris Kramer was talking about friend codes vs paying an online fee. Of course the fee would be for hosting their ow...
The awesome people over at Capcom recently sent me a copy of Spyborgs. An exclusive developed especially for the Nintendo Wii. As a lot of you probably already know, Spyborgs was originally planned as an interactive cartoon mixed with all sorts of gameplay elements. However, sometime during the production of the game, the game was scrapped and turned into a brawler/beat ’em up type of game. ...
