Tucked away in an unvisited and under-advertised corner of Nintendo’s E3 booth I found a quirky arena battle game titled “Line Attack Heroes.” While it may not be the sleeper hit of the show, it was a fun, simple, and interesting arena title that shares creative mojo with the famous Secret of Mana series.
A Suda51 game for the DS!?
Medieval Games is like a trip to Medieval times, you have all the cool little events going on such as Jousting and sword fighting. Even, later on there is a chance to slay a Dragon, yet all this is pulled together in a nice little package. You see the game is played like a board game similar to the style of Mario Party.
Bakugan: Battle Brawlers is the first video game based on the Bakugan animated series. Just like in the show players start off as an untrained Bakugan Brawler and must fight their way to the top of the heap. The game combines the drama and story of the animated series with the skill and strategy of the card game. So it will be easy for any player of Bakugan to become completely immersed in this un...
Ju-on the Grudge, plays like an enhanced interactive movie. From the few minutes I had to play around with the game, I learned that the game puts you in control of one of four family members who are trapped under the curse. Just like in the movie in Ju-on you follow the lives of family who are affected by a curse created by a murdered housewife in a house in Nerima.
House of the Dead: Overkill set the bar high for on-rail shooters for the Wii, bringing a linear game to life with solid gameplay and over-the-top humor. Will Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles make a suitable rival? I met up with Capcom’s Matt Delgran to find out.
Being developed by Monolith for the Wii, Manado was one of the few games that weren’t available on the show flow. The character designs seem to be similar to the character design of Xenosaga and Disaster: Day of Crisis.
Now with more “Hug” button.
Update: Hands On. From what I understood from an Nintendo of America employee, Spirit Tracks is actually not a continuation of the Wind Waker series in terms of a sequel to Phantom Hourglass. Yet the game happens one hundred years after the events of Phantom Hourglass. The one thing I was complaining about before was of course the train game play. I said it is very limiting to exploration, and I w...
One of the biggest and best announcements to go under appreciated at this year’s E3 was the localization of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, a solid, beautiful fighting game pitting Capcom’s best against characters from Tatsunoko animation! After huge fan outcry to see this title on US shores and a complicated battle to collect all of the US character rights the game is finally heading to North A...
One thing the Wii has been lacking is a big name Final Fantasy game – sure we had Echos of Time, but a Wii port of a DS title hardly counts. Square is delivering this year with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers – and don’t let the Chronicals franchise name fool you – this is no co-operative multiplayer title.
