If you haven’t already done so, check out the new Castlevania DS site. The game is scheduled for release in just two short weeks on October 4. What aspect of this game are you most excited about? [Thanks Matt]
If you didn’t get a chance to make it to Miyamoto’s NYC appearance this weekend at the Nintendo World Store, Joystiq posted some live impressions. Long lines, lot’s of Nintendo paraphanelia, cool t-shirts (pictured), and the man himself.Fan meeting Miyamoto Nintendo, “Know Your Roots”, ?, and “Home Schooled” tees[Source: Joystiq]
Here’s another GC game that’s on our radar. Super Mario Strikers drops stateside on 12/05/2005. You can download the new IGN preview by right clicking here to save. As always, the game looks super slick and should be a lot of fun to play. Check out that nasty Koopa Trooper cross early on in the trailer too. It’s being said that if you liked Sega’s Soccer Slam, you’ll ...
Chicago Tribune has posted their thoughts on the GameBoy Micro. They compare the portable’s strategy to that of Apple’s Nano and also point out the PSP’s recent poor performance compared to the GBA and DS. Best line in the article: “Nintendo isn’t expecting the Micro to outpace the DS; it’s just a fun way to reinvigorate the Game Boy line for one last big holida...
Nintendo is good. Yeah that’s coming from a fan site, but can you think of a more exciting time for Nintendo gaming? I just got done playing two very different games, using very different technology, yet extremely alike. Wario Ware Inc. for the GBA, and Nintendogs for the DS. I simply can’t get enough because these titles, along with so many others are extremely creative and fun to pla...
To all those in the NYC area, if you go to the Nintendo World store this Sunday from 11am to 1pm, let us know how Miyamoto’s cameo went. For those out of the loop, the first 200 arrivals get a signature from the classic game creator. The first 10 with a DS get to go in “bark mode” with the man. Shiggy the rock star indeed. Post impressions if you got ’em. [Source: GameSpot]
I have no idea who remixed these, but it’s some fine 8-bit programming, a la NES style. I’ve only stumbled upon these two tracks but I’d be interested in seeing if more songs are out there. It’s amazing that the original NES’s influence spans even further than just games. It was and is a cultural phenomenon. · Beck: Girl (NES remix) · Beck: E-Pro (NES remix) Know of...
With looks like this, it’s gotta be good.
Microsoft has a research article on what they call the XWand. It looks vagly similar to the new Revolution controller and has some of the same technology. This page is over a year old though and I don’t think Microsoft was/is developing it for gaming technology, but who knows. Have any seen this before? [Source: Microsoft]
Maybe the possibilities aren’t endless. Don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate the new Revolution controller and think it’s a great step forward. But “free style” play might not benefit all games. Here’s what it might have a hard time promoting without an extension. Soccer games – I loves me some FIFA, but not sure how that would work. Basketball games ...
This weeks results. 80% favored the new “free style” controller, 16% wanted to see some games first, and 2% were either still in shock or wished the controller was more traditional. The brilliant thing is that two hand gaming won’t die with the new controller due to extensions and classics. Be sure to place your vote on this weeks poll and thanks to all that participated. Although dynamic game pricing might have been a given, sounds like Iwata is looking to continue the trend with Revolution games. Here’s hoping Ninny doesn’t break the $60 barrier though. Thanks Matt. [Source: N-Sider]
