The widely successful Nintendogs DS game will be launching in Europe this Friday. To commemorate, Nintendo is promoting a London event to help get people excited. Dogs are welcome and the first 50 people at the event will get a copy of Nintendogs for free. The company will also be giving out doggy bags of Nintendo swag, including another free DS game. You think the title will be as big in Europe a...
As some of you know, Square Enix is prepping Final Fantasy IV on the GBA for the fall. With the Japanese version, they are also releasing a FFIV themed GB Micro faceplate. Most likely we won’t see it in US stores, but let’s hope it gets here somehow. Maybe as a My Nintendo bonus for registering the game on Nintendo.com like the Kirby stylus… [by Rollin, Source: 4cr]
As many of you may have already seen, Engadget has posted their recent Miyamoto interview on their site today. While the interview doesn’t add much for gamers in the loop, what it does provide is a ton of free publicity for Nintendo. That can only help its chances during the next round of consoles. Engadget is ranked as the second most popular blog according to links on the internet. They ge...
CVG has posted it’s second half of its interview with NOE’s Jim Merrick. He talks Electroplankton in Europe, the company’s marketing and strategic plans, and the new wi-fi service due out this fall. All-in-all, a good read. From the interview:What would you say to someone who suggests Nintendo’s marketing strategy simply isn’t aggressive enough? Jim Merrick: “We...
On the heels of the Red DS/Mario Kart bundle comes the announcement of 3 separate GameCube bundles. First is a Geist bundle that includes the game with a Cube for $99. I don’t see the reasoning in bundling a Cube with a mediocore, already released game that has no buzz and isn’t selling. I guess the only hook is that it’s better than buying a Cube on its own. Then there’s a...
DS Advanced is reporting that Nintendo is set to bring the Red DS, which was bundled with Jump Superstars in Japan, to the US this November. And it’s to be bundled with Mario Kart DS! Better yet, the bundle will retail for the same price as the Nintendogs bundle: $149.99 and will be available starting November 7th. I’m sure many of those hardcore gamers that have yet to buy DS will be ...
In a recent interview with GameSpy, creator of Sonic Yuji Naka has divulged that his soon-to-be hedgehog masterpiece, Sonic Rush for the DS, will have a competitive multiplayer game option through download play. This is sweet. In my opinion, Sonic Rush is destined to be the best Sonic game in recent memory, probably since Sonic CD. Loop-de-loops and bullet-speed jumps that stretch across two scree...
It’s been a little over a month now since the US release of Nintendogs, and I’m still hooked. Granted, I only pick it up every now and then for maybe 20-30 minutes, but it’s still a blast to play. Throwing a digital frisbee couldn’t have been programmed with more precision. It just never seems to get old. There are areas of the game I still haven’t delved deep into li...
Not only is October good for post-season baseball, but there are a slew of new Nintendo games out this month on all three systems. The fine folks at 4CR have put together a comprehensive list of games for the GC, DS, and GBA, namely Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC), Castlevania (DS), and Gunstar Superheroes (GBA). But there’s a lot more where those came from… Which are you most pumpe...
A slew of new scans including Resident Evil DS, Feel the Magic 2, and the new Dragon Ball Z DS fighter. Check ’em out. [Source: Games Are Fun]
Two analysts from Piper Jaffray have projected that Xbox 360 will lead the PlayStation 3 with system sales through 2008. The reason you should care about this is that they also said the 360’s userbase by then will be four times the size of Revolution’s. Kinda nuts if you ask me, when so many developers are psyched for Revolution’s prospects and so many are ditching the PS3. Furth...
Apparantly, NOA has released some network play details for Animal Crossing DS today. Here’s what we can expect: DS Local Area NetworkWhen players are within wireless range of other people who have Animal Crossing: Wild World, they can travel to one other’s towns. One person will be the host and open up his or her town gate to visitors. Up to three others within range can exit their tow...
