Mario Basketball and More

Nintendo announced several DS games today, and Japanese magazine Famitsu has screenshots. Among the games are Mario Basketball 3 on 3, a Tingle RPG, another brain-training game, and many more interesting concepts. Update: Even more screens are posted in the Nintendo Forum. A complete list of the newly announced DS games is available at Planet GameCube. [Thanks Rollin] Here are two of my favortite ...

Nintendo DS WiFi USB Connector

Nintendo of Japan held a press conference today revealing their Nintendo DS WiFi USB Connector. DS users will be able to purchase the adapter … and simply connect it to the USB port of a broadband-enabled PC and after a click or two, the PC becomes a home wireless hotspot. Therefore this creates a gateway to the web for the Nintendo DS. Sounds simple enough. How many lack a wireless router a...

Nintendo’s Status

Nintendo has a page to let you know their current status. So, how is Nintendo doing? “A-OK” [Source: Digg]

Turkey In The Game

This is a few days old, but Nintendo has officially entered the Turkish video game market. Not that there was a huge one before. It sounds like the first title and system to get a big promotional push will be Nintendogs with the DS, although the system will retail for US$249. Ouch! FYI: At the time of writing, Infendo has had a mere 113 unique visitors from Turkey, representing only .2% of our int...

Tendo Dokuta 2 Web Demo

The Japanese website for Tendo Dokuta 2 has opened with a neat ‘lil feature. You can demo some of the missions using your mouse as a stylus substitute. It’s pretty basic stuff, but using the internet to demo upcoming DS games is something I’ve always been a fan of. Check it out. [by Rollin, Source: Dokuta]

Nintendo Spotting

Just like the numerous stacks of outdated PC’s in the world, even Famicoms and NES’s need a packing from time to time… Gaming sure has come a long way.

Copy Wars and Applied Technology

News broke today about a possible Sony controller knock-off. Turns out the patent was filed back in January of 2004 and probably applies towards the Sony eye-toy currently out for the PS2. This is only a couple of weeks after our MS Revolution Knock-off article that leads me to ask several questions which I’ll address below. Who’s copying who? Isn’t a lot of the Revolution contro...

Nintendogs To Hit Europe

The widely successful Nintendogs DS game will be launching in Europe this Friday. To commemorate, Nintendo is promoting a London event to help get people excited. Dogs are welcome and the first 50 people at the event will get a copy of Nintendogs for free. The company will also be giving out doggy bags of Nintendo swag, including another free DS game. You think the title will be as big in Europe a...

FFIV Micro Faceplate

As some of you know, Square Enix is prepping Final Fantasy IV on the GBA for the fall. With the Japanese version, they are also releasing a FFIV themed GB Micro faceplate. Most likely we won’t see it in US stores, but let’s hope it gets here somehow. Maybe as a My Nintendo bonus for registering the game on Nintendo.com like the Kirby stylus… [by Rollin, Source: 4cr]

Free Publicity

As many of you may have already seen, Engadget has posted their recent Miyamoto interview on their site today. While the interview doesn’t add much for gamers in the loop, what it does provide is a ton of free publicity for Nintendo. That can only help its chances during the next round of consoles. Engadget is ranked as the second most popular blog according to links on the internet. They ge...

Interview: Jim Merrick Part 2

CVG has posted it’s second half of its interview with NOE’s Jim Merrick. He talks Electroplankton in Europe, the company’s marketing and strategic plans, and the new wi-fi service due out this fall. All-in-all, a good read. From the interview:What would you say to someone who suggests Nintendo’s marketing strategy simply isn’t aggressive enough? Jim Merrick: “We...

New Holiday GameCube Bundles

On the heels of the Red DS/Mario Kart bundle comes the announcement of 3 separate GameCube bundles. First is a Geist bundle that includes the game with a Cube for $99. I don’t see the reasoning in bundling a Cube with a mediocore, already released game that has no buzz and isn’t selling. I guess the only hook is that it’s better than buying a Cube on its own. Then there’s a...
