[NOTE: The following post is merely an attempt to study Nintendo’s two biggest competitors. No potshots were intended as all three systems have an uphill battle to wage in the coming year.] Business 2.0’s latest November issue has an excellent article on Nintendo’s two biggest competitors, Microsoft and Sony. The piece mainly focuses on Microsoft’s Peter Moore and his strat...
Infendo’s own Chris (FireEmblem54) was recently chosen to participate in a select Nintendogs study conducted by the Big N. All the basic questions were found, but the survey also contained the following: “Would you be interested in new versions/expansions to Nintendogs?” Listed options included “new contests, new items, new breeds, and new types of animals.” We’...
Hey Infendo readers, here’s a question for you: What game(s) are you currently playing? Put it in the comments. Thanks. [by Rollin]
I usually don’t link to threads but Slashdot, the lovely tech/developer haven, has a good one going about the 20 years of NES games. Most in favor, some against, but many comments none-the-less. Thread Me. [Source: Slashdot]
Though I can appreciate a good Unreal Tournament session, it looks like Epic Games VP Mark Reign wanted some free publicity and I resentfully give it to him via this post. In a recent remark about Nintendo’s Revolution, the exec said ”[Nintendo fans are in for] the most crappy, cheap, I-wish-I-hadn’t-bought-it gimmicks ever.” I believe many said the same thing about the DS, no? ...
Nintendo and GameStop will offer Nintendog owners a free virtual gift this Halloween. More than 3,600 GameStops across the country will play host to the Nintendogs Tricks and Treats Weekend event, which runs Oct. 28 through Oct. 30. People who bring in a DS and a copy of Nintendogs to GameStop can receive a virtual pair of star-shaped sunglasses along with a voice greeting from Napoleon Dynamite s...
Nintendo struck a deal today with Zi Corporation that will allow game developers to integrate handwriting recognition into their DS games. While no actual products are in development, this adds yet another unique gameplay/functionality feature to the portable that could be creatively used. Any ideas other than DS Brain Training? [Update: Looks like everything is back up and running. Thanks Google!] Seems like Blogger is getting a massage i.e. having some technical issues with postings, images, and commenting. We’ll be updating via email but keep your fingers crossed for full commenting and image goodness shortly.
[Infendo writer FireEmblem54 gets his hands on an advance copy of DK Country 3 for the GBA. Here’s his full review, a tad early like the big boys. Available November 7, 2005.] Most side-scrollers aren’t known for their stories, but a good one usually helps hold a game together. As a gamer, when one buys DK, he or she isn’t expecting a prolific story- which in this case is good, b...
A talented bloke by the name of Jason Cox has made public his private remix of the Super Mario World soundtrack using dozens of instruments. Pretty clever stuff, and you can tell a lot of work went into it. Track 4 is a rockin’. Thanks rokerovakero![Source: Archive.org]
“It [the Revolution] would be a complete failure if we didn’t sell more units than the Nintendo GameCube.” – Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata Chew on that. [Source: Nikkei Business]
The always reliable Spong (…) is reporting that the Revolution will be released in June of 2006, this being revealed to the gaming site “overnight.” The news break also confirms rumors of an international launch in the US, Japan, and Europe “as close as possible.” Regardless if Spong is just going after some extra traffic or not, June is a safe bet. The recent Nintend...
