A Friend Indeed: My Nintendo Power Collage

Mushroom Kingdom birthday cakes, NES beds, master sword quilts…Nintendo fans tend to celebrate their passion in crazy, time-intensive ways. Thanks to my friend Lindsay, I own my own little unique Nintendo creation. These three collages were made from Nintendo Power clippings, and they decorate the binder I use for pretty much everything (L-R Back, Spine, Front).

3DS, the software sales

After one week on North American store shelves, Nintendo is already reporting record sales for 3DS. Can the same be said for software sales? Read on to find out!

Anyone else cave in and buy a case?

I repeatedly said I would never, ever, spend more cash to buy a case for the 3DS. But it’s so shiny…and I’m carrying it to work every day…and I really don’t want to scratch the outer lenses…

What are you playing this weekend?

I’m hoping to play backlit GBA if it arrives via mail order. If not, I’m hoping to play AR games, and maybe a little Steel Diver. What about you?

My picks for launch title 3D Awards

We’ve entered a new era, and glasses-free 3D is now a very real option for modern gameplay. Nintendo’s 3DS launch lineup presents a wide range of approaches in utilizing the new feature, with varying results. Based on extensive time with much of the lineup, here are my entirely subjective pretend-awards for best uses of the third dimension:

That’s it’I’m buying a backlit GBA SP

What better way to replay Minish Cap and other GBA classics than on the AGS-101. Just eBayed one. Can’t wait to play it. (NOTE: I bought the original silver frontlit one in the spring of 2003)

The 3DS menu blows

Seriously, try blowing on the screen when you’re in the main menu on the 3DS!

Pandora’s Tower, first look

When Pandora’s Tower was first announced back in February, details about the title were…well we didn’t have any. Now we have video! There are still no details on exactly what type of game Pandora’s Tower will be, but my guess is that it will be of the hack and slack, Devil May Cry-ish...

Watch Derek show off 3DS AR games

When he’s not co-hosting the podcast or writing witty columns for Infendo, Derek makes a living as a YouTube vlogger. And if you haven’t seen all the AR Games including with the 3DS, you need to watch his smile-inducing sample of ’em all. See also: Part 2 Part 3

Free Mii’s! Come and get ”˜em!

Of all the programs that the activity log in my 3DS has logged me using, the Mii Maker and Mii Plaza have gotten the least attention. To remedy the situation, I thought I would give out my Mii QR code to anyone who cared to have it.  I’m not sure if my Mii looks entirely like a spitting image of the real Eugene, (my hair is at least 3 times the length), but good enough I suppose. I hope...
