La-Mulana is a side scrolling platformer that was released back in 2005 for the PC. The game features a mixture of ‘bit’ graphics and an interface that is inspired by MSX games. La-Mulana is one of those traditional action-adventure games that will punish the player if they make a wrong move and is very reminiscent of the Castlevania and Metroid games. It’s official .. with both Wii Sports Resort and the WiiWare release of Monkey Island, this is the best release week of the last three months! (I’m still a little concerned about two weeks in a row of no Virtual Console titles…) Click on in for other games and DLC for Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
Straight from the developer’s mouth: “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal”, the first chapter of Tales of Monkey Island, now has a WiiWare release date. The game will make its console debut in North America this coming Monday, the 27th of July. It’s going to be 1000 Wii Points and if it’s anything like the PC version I played, it’s totally worth it!
Just for fun (no prizes) let’s all come up with captions for this awesome picture from the recent Wii Sports Resort event in NYC. [If it’s prizes you seek, hit up our current GTA Facebook contest!]

Word on the street is Nintendo took over Times Square with an island theme (sandy beaches and all) as part of a large promotion for the great, if slightly undercooked Wii Sports Resort. Any Infendo readers hit the NYC area for a test drive? Thoughts?
While many of us would be content to play Tatsunoko vs Capcom on a classic controller. They’re a few of us who want that arcade experience, and we all know that Capcom is all about the arcade feeling. They are working with Mad Catz once again to bring the Wii it’s own unique fight stick; just like the one for street fighter 4 a few months back. Although there isn’t any word on a ...
In 2005, Nintendo was sitting on some pretty hot technology. Instead of a joystick for its next console’then named Revolution’the company planned to release a perplexing white TV remote capable of sensing motion. If only Nintendo had an equally smoking game to showcase what the controls could do. Fast forward to today. That software turned out to be Wii Sports, which has since become a cultural ph...
Like a virus, the plastic parade’well-known to Wii folk’has spread in earnest to the DS with the upcoming Band Hero. Where once there was a smattering of cool Arkanoid spinners and the occasional bulky faux-guitar grip now stands a pile of new accessories for a new game in the “Hero” series from Activision. I fear, as always, for the children.
More from than wonderful Epic Games Mark Rein interview, where he’s been lofting anti-core quotes high into the air in such a way that they glide gently back to earth like falling snow. Truly, for such a slow news day it sure feels like a glorious Christmas in July to me right now: “Over half the users who played Gears of War 2 so far do not have HDTVs.” That popping sound you he...
While browsing the RSSMeme feed this morning, as I am wont to do instead of doing actual work, I came across a cool Kirby project. I’m experimenting with web design, tablet drawing and whatnot these days, so the “How to Create Kirby” tutorial in Photoshop caught my eye. Now I’m sharing it with you, because it’s the summer, and the news moves as if mired in molasses. A...
