The best Nintendo release week of all time

Another huge list of games, as the holiday season draws near. I could literally spend hundreds of dollars this week with titles coming out like Super Mario Galaxy, Medal Of Honor Heroes 2, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, Geometry Wars, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Contra 4, and Cooking Mama 2. You must be buying something this week .. what’s on your list? Full list ...

New for the Virtual Console this week: Volleyball – NES – 500 Wii Points Step onto the court in one of the first volleyball games ever made. Select either the men’s or women’s competition, choose from one of eight available countries to represent, and prepare for some intensely fun game play. Review: Carnival Games

Creating a game that captures the spirit of a carnival shouldn’t be too hard. Carnival Games brings you almost everything you’d find on a midway, minus the smells. Most of the minigames are fun, you’re not required to “walk around” to play games, and the sound effects are perfect. I’m not a fan of collecting items in games, but they’ve made it pretty simpl...

NGamer: Mario Kart Wii as “nippy as can be”

The British magazine NGamer posted an updated set of Mario Kart impressions on Thursday, complementing their extensive August preview. Collectively, NGamer has provided some of the most comprehensive Mario Kart Wii coverage available and has revealed some interesting tidbits that seem to have slipped under the radar. One of the more interesting revelations from their recent preview, Mario Kart Wii...

Infendo Radio discusses the issues that matter most

It’s a Crane/Snow show only this week as Scott was busy frightening children at a local playground (pictured). Regardless, listen in as Blake fumbles his intro and Kyle sounds intelligent. There is some good discussion, however, so be sure to email your audio comments to [email protected] or 206-338-BIGN. Enjoy the show. Super Mario theme song played by Tesla coils

It’s quickly becoming Mario Weekend here at Infendo. Dig this crazy clip of twin Tesla coils playing the Super Mario Bros theme song in Baraboo, Wisconsin! The music that you hear is coming from the sparks that these two identical high power solid state Tesla coils are generating. There are no speakers involved. [Thanks, Adam!]

On the eve of Galaxy – Mario Retrospectives

With Super Mario Galaxy coming out next week, various Mario retrospectives are starting to pop up on the web. Jamie from Scotland even spotted this one on the Nintendo of Europe site, too. What are some of your most memorable Mario moments?

DOOM creator: The DS is a dream

For John Carmack, the mastermind behind Doom, programming for the DS is as smooth as butter. In an interview with IGN today, the id programming guru confirmed that he wrote the 3D code for the Orcs & Elves in just four days and that it was “probably the most fun platform that I have personally worked on. It is a shame that homebrew development can’t be officially sanctioned and sup...

IGN calls Medal of Honor Heroes 2 ‘impressive’

From the 8.4/10 review: I think it speaks volumes that, for as reluctant as I am to buy another wartime shooter, I really enjoy playing Heroes 2 in spite of its setting. The controls do that much for me. If you thought Metroid Prime 3 got it right, wait until you get your hands on this one. You had me at four added decimal points. Kidding — add another one to the list.
