Nintendo Power got me excited for WarioWare DIY

This has happened to me a couple of times now: I know a game is coming out, it sounds interesting, but I never give it much thought.  Nintendo Power shows up in my mailbox, has a feature on said game, and I immediately pre-order it.  This time around it was WarioWare DIY for DS. Something about playing new mini-games, creating them, downloading them, and even playing them on my Wii got me really...

Pikmin 3 Development is “Well Under Way” Says Miyamoto

Official Nintendo Magazine UK recently spoke to Shigeru Miyamoto at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards. They announced via Twitter: ONM is at the BAFTAs! Miyamoto just told us Pikmin 3 development is “well under way”. Can we expect a reveal at E3? They’re going to announce something, since most of their software releases will be out by then.

Bored? Hack your old DS to control a camera

Not sure I have the technical skills required to do this, but here’s an interesting use of the DS Lite as a DSLR camera controller.  Anyone out there have the necessary techniques or components to pull this one off?

Miyamoto “devoting” most of his time to education

Instead of Mario and Zelda, Miyamoto says he’s spending more of his time on edutainment now. You know how it goes: you get old, so you try to make up lost time by dedicating yourself to more important causes. In Miyamoto’s case, that would be education. “That is maybe the area I am devoting myself (the) most,” he told The Associated Press this week, when asked about his des...

Sonic 4: Spinning Feet Confirmed!

There was something essential missing from the most recent additions to the Sonic franchise. Something essential, a simple visual effect that MADE Sonic, something so simple that it definitively said, “Man, that Hedgehog must be running pretty darn fast.”  That thing is spinning, blurry feet.  Check out the “spinning feet” and a few new screen-shots at the Sonic the Hedge...

Has the DS lost its luster?

While finishing up our quarterly TPS reports this month, rumor spread around Infendo headquarters that the DS just wasn’t being played that much anymore. Jack and Derek said they rarely touch theirs’even though touching is good. And I must admit I haven’t played DS as often as I used to. Is this because: Normalcy. The DS is almost six years old. Like all aging consoles, it’s natu...

Crossfire Pistol Elegantly Designed, but Misfires

Wii owners are long since familiar with the “Plastic Plague” of crappy gaming peripherals that have come our way.  Even Nintendo themselves are guilty, creating a plastic wheel, and the infamous “zapper,” both little more than plastic molds to cram your remote into.  For me, the former always left something to be desired – the official plastic shell places the trig...

Introducing the Infendo Art Challenge

I’m somewhat of an artist in my spare time, and I thought I can’t be the only one. Over in the forums, we’re starting  something for the artist in each of you. We’ll introduce a theme, and give you a month to work on your creation. When you’re done (whether its a pencil sketch, ink doodle, full color photoshop creation, or cosplay), post a picture in the forums. At t...
