Has the DS lost its luster?

Nintendo DS Metallic Silver

While finishing up our quarterly TPS reports this month, rumor spread around Infendo headquarters that the DS just wasn’t being played that much anymore. Jack and Derek said they rarely touch theirs’even though touching is good. And I must admit I haven’t played DS as often as I used to. Is this because:

  1. Normalcy. The DS is almost six years old. Like all aging consoles, it’s natural to pick them up less in their golden years.
  2. Lack of games. The DS just doesn’t get as much high-profile game love as it used to.
  3. Lack of excitement. The portable has been there, done that written all over it.

Which is it, readers? Has the DS lost its mojo?
