Some have wondered if the Wii U, after its short lifespan, can really hang with Sony and Microsoft. The wonder turned to worry when stock levels were readily available around the holidays, unlike the original Wii console. Some seemed to have lost faith in Nintendo before even playing the Wii U. For most of us die hard Nintendo fans, we never lost hope. In fact, we drooled over the launch list, ...
How far the Nintendo 3DS has come since it’s abysmal launch in early 2011. As of yesterday, the Nintendo 3DS has outsold the lifetime sales of the Playstation 3 in Japan, which released in November 2006. The 3DS total Japanese sales numbers equal to 8,728,515 units compared to the PS3’s total of 8,593,899 units. At this rate, the 3DS would be on pace to outsell the original Nintendo DS...

As mentioned earlier on Infendo, today marks the 6oth birthday to one of video games most well-known designers, innovators, and true master of their craft. For the majority of the gaming populace, Shigeru Miyamoto’s creations (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, etc.) helped shape what we as gamers have become today. We all know of his work, but anyone (hardcore gamer or not) who grew up du...
It’s hard to believe that Shigeru Miyamoto is turning 60 tomorrow, or today, if you’re already past the 12AM mark somewhere in the world! Here’s to many more years of great games from Shiggsy!
CVG have a great article about the story of the Wii. The whole thing is definitely worth reading, but I found this particularly interesting. Tom Quinn (above) is the man who invented the technology in your Wiimote today. He invented it for aeronautical reasons, as a method of auto-stabilising his aircraft, long before he pitched it as a gaming tool to Nintendo in 2001. Quinn actually aproac...
Whenever a new console is launched, there is bound to be a certain amount of negativity surrounding the release. Usually, we see the insults coming from the other console manufacturers as they try to steal the curiosity their way. It is a rare occasion that we see a developer bashing a console, the obvious reason is that they do not want to burn any bridges. Peter Molyneux, Former Bullfrog and L...
Nintendo of Japan recently posted photos of what the Wii U version of the eShop will look and operate. For now, not much to report as the page’s descriptions are in Japanese, and I’m not the go-to translator at Infendo.com sadly. However, the one screengrab does show off a clean and (maybe?) streamlined interface. Again, just a preview of what will hopefully lead to a North America spe...

Sometimes we receive ideas form our fans via [email protected] (please let us know if you would, or would not, like your name mentioned in an article if the idea is chosen). This is one of those “fan finds”. Adam Benton, a graphic design student from Essex, created this screen printed book recapping Nintendo’s UK history. “This is one of my final books for my bookmaking and...
