Weekend Discussion: What did you think of Nintendo’s E3 showing?

Another E3 has come and gone, and we here at Infendo are happy to have shared countless posts on Nintendo’s latest games and projects. Now comes the hard part: waiting for many of the announced or previously announced titles to make their way to our living rooms. Well, that and catching some rest from all the E3 coverage we posted here on Infendo. Nintendo’s E3 presence has received a ...

Aonuma on Link in new Zelda teaser: “No one explicitly said that that was Link.”

The short teaser for Zelda on the Wii U has the majority of E3 goers and all of social media talking when it was shown during Nintendo’s Digital Event this morning. What we know from the brief glimpse into the next-gen Zelda is two things: 1.) It will be open-world; and 2.) It looks beautiful in it’s early stages of development. But, there might be another detail that could have Ninten...

The Game Boy turns 25 today

Has it really been that long? That’s the thought which probably ponders through many gamer’s heads as Nintendo’s Game Boy reaches 25 years of age. Launched in Japan on this date, the Game Boy ushered in a new era of portable gaming and many imitators to knock away its firm grip on the handheld market share. Selling well under 119 million units worldwide before being discontinued ...

How would you rank Nintendo consoles?

This week, the smart, handsome, and “hang on every word they say” writers of Infendo had an internal discussion about better than expected 3DS reception. In an effort to defend my still estranged relationship with 3DS, I ranked all major Nintendo consoles as follows, from the most “wow” moments to the fewest (if any): Wii > DS > GameCube > GBA > NES > SNES &g...

What’s the biggest blip on your radar?

I gotta go Zelda: Skyward Sword, if only because it’s Zelda, it’s being overseen by Miyamoto, and it’s director by the same guy that did Minish Cap, the most underrated Zelda of all time. Either that or another upcoming Zelda: Ocarina 3D. What about you? What’s the biggest blip on your gaming radar?

What month do you play the most games?

I’m gonna be honest folks. After the holiday glut of games, I almost always take a breather from game for much of January. Anyone else? Regardless, is there a month of the year you typically play more games? If so, what is it?

Is the Wii phenomenon finally over?

Gaming Age Forum-goer Entrement started an interesting discussion yesterday, in regards to Nintendo Wii becoming cold product. “This is not a qualitative analysis, or whether you like the Wii or Nintendo games,” he writes. “But the future doesn’t look too bright,” he says, for the following reasons: The 3DS: Nintendo is not a big company. They have small, dedicated in...

What non-gaming activities are you participating in this weekend?

Me? I’m watching college football all freaking weekend, including a trip to Lavell Edwards Stadium to hopefully see BYU beat Nevada in a game of gridiron, tickets courtesy of my well-placed uncle. (Go, Cougars!) What about you? What non-gaming stuff are you doing this weekend? Got any exciting plans you want to share?

What do you think of Metroid Other M?

The game released yesterday. Did you play it? If so, what do you think? Is Infendo on crack? Was Mark on to something in his mixed review? More importantly, where do you think this game will rank in the annals of Metroid history? Top of the food chain, middle manager, or bottom feeder? Speak up!

Is the Wii done as far as third parties go?

Shocking Alberto, an admittedly satisfied Wii owner, asks the question: Is the Wii done as far as third parties go? “Consider this: The biggest PS3/360 third party release this summer? Take your pick: Red Dead Redemption, Splinter Cell, Lost Planet 2, etc,” he writes. “The biggest third party Wii games? Trauma Team (one of my GOTYs) and Arc Rise Fantasia… The fact of the ma...
