EGM Iwata Interview

The good folks at Nintendophiles have posted the recent EGM Iwata Interview on their site. While it doesn’t reveal anything new, it does clarify some graphics, DVD, ethernet port, and controller questions. Iwata reassures that as Nintendo moves forward with controller functionality, it will be backwards compatible for traditional game mechanics.

More Controller Thoughts

We’re all familiar with soft keys for games (i.e. Zelda buttons change functionality on screen given certain scenarios). What if the buttons on the controller changed themselves with a mini digital display? The Optimus Keyboard does just that and is definitely something that could be used for the Revolution (especially for playing various console games).[Thanks Aadil]

RE5 Teaser Trailer

IGN has posted a new teaser trailer for RE5. It would be a shame for this not to make it’s way to the Revolution. RE4 was such a great game and I only expect the next installment to be just as good. Hopefully for Nintendo gamers, a later announcement will take place. Watch Now!

Nintendo Forever (Doing Very Well)

Contrary to popular opinion about Nintendo’s lackluster market share, the company is doing great from a business standpoint. I should have posted this article much sooner cause it is just that well written. It explains how Nintendo with it’s 10% console market share turns as good as profit as all of Sony combined. Music, movies & games. Wow. The Big N is going to be around for a lo...

Resident Evil 5

Famitsu, the popular Japanese gaming magazine, has said that Capcom will release RE5 for both the 360 and PS3. No word on if it will be out for the Revolution, but I think if it were coming they would’ve already announced it. Do you? (I hope I’m wrong ’cause RE4 was off the hook.) Revolution’s Last Stand?

AndPop has a new post on Nintendo and their upcoming Revolution launch. The author, having a chip on his shoulder, believes an online Smash Bros. for Revolution would be Nintendo’s savior. (What?) If console strategy were that simple, everyone would make it. So if Revolution underperforms, do you think Nintendo will still make consoles?

Official Winner

You are looking at the best console of this generation, the Nintendo GameCube. Biased coming from a Nintendo blog? You bet. Bold statement? Oh yeah. Has the most “great” games? Yup. Has the fastest load times? Undisputed. Best controller? Yes. Most affordable? Check. Has a kiddy connotation attached to it? Check that one too. Did you really care? No. She had her down falls (think onlin...

Double Trouble

Look at these things! With great games, and good looks, Nintendo is going to do just fine in the handheld market. Contrary to popular belief, Ninny knows best when it comes to portables.

Wind Waker Revisit

As we prepare for the much anticipated Twilight Princess, I came across this new reader review of Wind Waker on IGN. It’s to the point, short and sweet (far too many reviews are too long, i.e. GameSpot). This was and is a great game. Which Zelda has been your favorite?

Why a router?

Does anyone know why Nintendo would launch a branded router as reported? Wireless routers (even USB ones) are a dime a dozen. I guess they could earn a few extra bucks, but I just don’t see the logic behind this move if it were in fact true. Am I missing something?

Revolution Docking Station?

IGNIQ is claiming to have received an anonymous email hinting at who knows what. The post, while vague, has some interesting insights, such as what the docking station is used for, and how the Rev’s small size could have some functionality. I must say, all this speculation is insane. Nintendo better bring the heat later this year if they want to live up to all this hype and talk. “We c...

Zelda to Launch 11/14?

Word on the street is that Zelda: Twilight Princess is scheduled for a November 14th US release. Our friends across the pond can expect it by the 25th. I wonder when we’ll find out about the pre-order details. Any reason this won’t be the game of the year? [Source: Amazon via Cubed]
