No need to wait for the Micro, Lik Sang out of Hong Kong is selling the original Gameboy’s for a cool $20 bucks including some other vintage gear. Remember, the Micro’s screen is as big/small as these badboys (2 inches), so you should still be good to go…[Thanks Karen]
What was your favorite tid-bit about last week’s Miyamoto interview? While the Zelda delay is disappointing, we we’re happy to hear that Miyamoto is more actively involved with Twilight Princess. Even more-so than Wind Waker, and that was one fine game. He even says they might add a “last minute idea.” It’s gonna be good peeps. It’s gonna be good… [Source:...
Nintendo is currently holding street parties for the Gameboy Micro some 10 days prior to it’s Japanese release. They’ve got 8-bit music blasting, vintage Mario running on some systems, and a nice little notepad as a keepsake. The pictured play-yan micro is also on showcase. Ever since Satoru Iwata inherited Hiroshi Yamauchi’s position as the president of Nintendo, it’s beco...

The PSP sold extremely well over the weekend in the UK, around 185,000 units. That’s double the record set by the DS back in march of 87,000 units. Hype or high European interestin the? Either way, that’s a lot of units. [Source: 24×7 Updates]
Nintendo will be launching a new mobile service (at least in Japan) to license classic content like images and ringtones. No word about games but I think you’ll be likely to see that as well. Cell phone content is huge right now due to the extremely high margins. Looks like Ninny might want to cash in. [Source: Nintendo of Japan]
Business 2.0 had a nice article on Ubisoft. The publisher is quick, fast, develops great games, and is very creative in some of their efforts. They have a goal to develop three “new concept” games out of every 10 they make (think Beyond Good & Evil). Which third party publisher do you like the best?
XYZ computing has a great nostalgic article on the SNES and why the writer feels it was the best console ever. He doesn’t bash current games and consoles so much, only he reflects on just how good the games really were back then. (SNES Games List) Do you agree with the writer? If not, which Nintendo, or any console for that matter, has been your favorite and why? [Source: XYZ Computing]
GameSpot has a good read on the history of Mario Sports games. Which has been your favorite over the years? [Source: GameSpot]
Following Friday’s article from Tom’s Hardware, do you think games today are too easy? A simple “Y” or “N” will suffice but feel free to elaborate. Personally, I think no. But that’s based solely on my comparisons to other forms of entertainment that I enjoy such as movies (maybe 2 hours to “finish”), music (an hour per album), and books (these...
I’m not surprised. Zelda takes the crown by far. Be sure to check out the new and improved survey. A little less mini with a whole lot more. You guys can now view the results and I think it’s a little cleaner. Let me know if you prefer the old skool and thanks for voting.
Looks like not only Nintendo fans want a “revolution.” Game developers are fed up too. Here’s hoping that their employers will follow Nintendo’s lead and go out on a limb with some new hardware, interface devices, and gameplay. Even Nintendo has used the “repeat” model from time to time, but nothing like the majority of game publishers do. That’s not too s...
