Infendo Reader Reviews: Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz

From time to time, we’ll take a few well-written, intelligent and objective reviews from the Infendo Forums and throw them up on the main page for the whole world to enjoy. Here’s a review of a Wii launch title, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, by Abras. The little, strange looking monkeys in bubbles are back for some more fun. The first game in the series made quite a splash during the...

Wii is profitable – analysts begin to realize it

As I preach to the choir here at Infendo, I often forget that a lot of people don’t like Wii or Nintendo. I even forget that publishers and developers were until recently still operating under the assumption that Nintendo was failing in the console category. Apparently developers and publishers are now realizing that Nintendo is back and that their non-portable game system is a big deal. Fro...

Wii-ified Resident Evil 4 is almost perfect

Sometimes tacking on Wiimote controls to a game from 2005 just works. Especially if that game happens to be one of the greatest games of the past decade. From Game|Life (Wired’s) 9/10 Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition review: Caught off-guard with the success of the Wii and looking for a quick fix, several publishers have tacked motion controls on to their existing games. It hasn’t turned out...

Nintendo E3 predictions from around the Net

Game|Life has a whack at some Nintendo predictions for the mini-E3 descending on Santa Monica next week: I don’t think Nintendo will bother showing off a redesigned DS. They’ve already said that this E3 is going to be software-focused. Plus, they don’t need to do it: the DS Lite is selling like no other game system in history, and people don’t have any real complaints about...

Nintendo Spotting: I go to Wendy’s

The gf had a craving for a Wendy’s Kid’s Meal, and this is what we found at the bottom. No, not the DS, the cutesy Wii Baseball game.

Chibi Robo DS sequel released today

While looking for info on the DS Camera story, I noticed that today in Japan, the sequel to the Game Cube’s Chibi Robo, Sakasete! Chibi Robo, or Chibi Robo: Park Patrol (US title) was released. I never played the previous game, but it appears the new one is still an action adventure title, this time taking place outside where our robot friend’s task it to make garden-flowers bloom usin...

And eyes and ears and mouth and…

So the DS can talk in Thai, it can listen and obey simple (doggy) commands, and now it can see you make funny faces! That’s right, the latest DS accessory that’s making the blog rounds is Nintendo’s official DS Camera that comes bundled with their new game: DS Face Training for Adults, or Facening.

So you say Metroid Prime 3 isn’t online…

Metroid: One of the most innovative single player experiences ever created for a system. It spawned countless side scrolling adventures in its wake and features one of the most jaw dropping “WTF?” moments in gaming history. As with all timeless series however, it found itself in need of a remake, and today it exists as a FPS (and with good measure — Metroid Prime is the third bes...

No playable Smash Bros. at E3

E3 Lite will not feature any playable demos of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a Nintendo rep told Game|Life today. The 2007 release is still assured, however. Is this disappointing? Yes. Does it make sense? Also yes. Game|Life explains why (and I think you’ll start to see why this is not your daddy’s E3 anymore): Nintendo’s stance is that they are going to have an E3 with a very narrow...

Wii outsells PS3 6:1 in Japan

The mountain of Nintendo grows ever higher this morning as Reuters (via CNET, via Enterbrain) reports that the plucky little Wii has bested the obsidian monolith PS3 by a ratio of 6:1.And the best part? Wii’s momentum is going UP month over month. Nintendo sold 270,974 units of the Wii in the four weeks ended June 24, compared with 41,628 units for the PS3 and 17,616 units for Microsoft̵...
