This, my friends, is most awesome.

Wiimbledon crew to start Wii Bowling League

From the ‘why the hell hasn’t someone thought of this already file’ comes news that the Wiimbledon gang in NYC is set to unleash some Wii Bowling League goodness to the masses in the near future. Steve Bryant, half of the duo behind the recent smash-hit Wiimbledon event, has gone in with Internet media guru Tim Shey to create Wii Bowl NY, a new Wii Bowling League. Details are sli...

Virtual Console Monday – Kirby’s Dream Course, Devil’s Crush, and Shining Force

Yes!  Another Kirby game comes to the Virtual Console this week!  Oh, it’s a golf game? Hmmm… Here are the new Virtual Console releases this week: Kirby’s Dream Course – SNES Step up to the tee for the wackiest golf game of your life. This one- or two-player game features a floating golf course in the sky. High above Dream Land, players can pitch and putt the ever-popular...

Dust off your chain-saws

We all know that Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition’s biggest new feature was its wiimote integration, but tipster Jake Barber sent us an e-mail that may interest those of us that never got a chance to play the game with its original controlls, or those that played it so much that they were to condemn their chain-saw controller to the obsolete-game-accessory-closet: “Many people may not reali...

New DS non-game to replace check-register

On August 12th Nintendo and syn Sophia will release yet another intriguing non-game title into the DS’s rapidly expanding library. “Ganbaru Watshi no Kakei Diary,” or “Doing My Best Family Finance Diary,” is basically a digital check register for your DS. The game allows you to input all of your expenses from food, to clothes, and bills like water and power, rent, etc...

DIY Nintendo DS Lite Rumble Pak

Sure Nintendo has already released a new Rumble Pak for the Nintendo DS lite, “…but where is the fun in that?” says mod-pro Xyzzy on Instructables. Xyzzy’s mod is made from a hacked-up Pokémon Pinball GBA cartridge and a Nokia phone motor, and fits inside of your DS space-holder, so it will even match the color of your DS if you don’t own a black or white model.

Martha Stewart makes a Wii cake with Wired Magazine

Just over eight months ago, Ellen DeGeneres was giving away a Wii on her show while we were still camping out. Now Martha Stewart shares the Wii love with this lovely cake shaped like the world’s hottest video game console. The Wii gets even more mainstream … and that’s a good thing! Rockstar porting two games to Wii

We’ve received two reports this week about Rockstar porting their very strong titles Bully and Table Tennis to the Wii. While it’s great to see Rockstar getting behind Wii, some folks might be groaning that they’re “just ports”. Personally, I’m excited to play these games since I don’t own the systems for which they were originally released. Does it really...

Project H.A.M.M.E.R. is D.E.A.D.

It doesn’t take rocket scientist to figure out that development on Project HAMMER has probably ceased to be. At E3, Nintendo said things had been shuffled around, and work had started on new projects. HAMMER, meanwhile, was given a hot seat on the back burner. In the basement. Under a huge pile of nudie magazines. Naturally, seeing as this is a back burnder, those are magazines f the flame-r...

Nintendo Spotting: Mariners DS network edition

Sure, it’s five bucks a pop every time you want to go to a game and use it, but at Fenway Park they charge me $7 for a dixie cup full of beer. It’s a baseball game — you go in expecting to get hosed! [Thanks, brother-in-arms MisterInvisible!]
