Snagging a Wii on “Black Friday”

I told Blake once I arrived in Japan I would do a guide to buying the Wii- which was still quite sought-after when I left the US. After a few months I finally waded through the necessary bureaucracy to get my own apartment and so I figured what better day to grab a Wii than “Black Friday,” the worst shopping day of the year…

Nyko’s Perfect Shot Wii glock looks fun

Having already been sold on cheap shooter peripherals with the release of Link’s Crossbow Training, this impending $13 plastic Wii gun made by Nyko and shipping in January looks fun. It even has a pass-through port for Nunchuck movement. Sweet and cheap, as I like to say.

Wii horse racing

I love clever home brew, even if it isn’t hi-tech.

Nintendo web site feels different …

Because for some lucky blokes it is different. Loading differently anyway. Could this be a first look at the changes Nintendo promised when it summarily ripped the NSider forums away from us over the summer? No word yet on the fate of the late, great forums (depending on who you ask, of course), but this does appear to be some kind of beta for the newly designed Nintendo.com.

Capcom fumbles Phoenix Wright pre-orders

The latest entry into Capcom’s popular courtroom drama series, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations was released for the Nintendo DS on October 23. As with most games from major publishers like Capcom, stores nationwide stocked their shelves with the game almost immediately, and most fans were able to easily obtain a copy and get to sleuthing. Unless they pre-ordered one from...

Poll – Wii and HD

During the last installment of Infendo Radio, Scott talked about how much he liked the graphics for Super Mario Galaxy, but he wished that Nintendo had gone to at least 720P with Wii. Of the Wii setups I’ve seen, the majority are hooked up to standard definition TVs and game enjoyment was just as good there as it was on an HD widescreen. What do you think? {democracy:23} [Click here for resu...

New Nintendo DS game turns young magicians into ‘Masters Of Illusion’

It’s a Modern Twist on Classic Magic Tricks REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 27, 2007 ”“ You see here before you a video game. By all outward appearances, it’s a simple video game. Feel free to inspect it to confirm it is, in fact, of the standard video game variety. Note that I have nothing up my sleeve, nor do I have any confederates among the audience. Now allow me, if you will, to insert the g...

NiGHTS team favors WaveBird over Wiimote

FROM GAMES RADAR: “We sat down with the boss of Sonic Team USA, Takashi Iizuka, at the Wii Flat in London yesterday to quiz him on his new game, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams on Wii – and he revealed an interesting fact about the game’s development. Turns out that of all the four control methods available, the development team all play the game using GameCube controllers.”

Developer: Third-party Wii efforts are lazy; Gamers: We know

Video Gamer has posted an interview with Battalion Wars 2 lead developer, Tancred Dyke-Wells (that’s a mouthful!), in which he says other third-party developers are “under-exploiting” the Wii, and that there’s “room to do more” on “GameCube x2.” While calling other developer efforts “lazy,” Wells says his team is working on a number of pr...

Greenpeace won’t hug Nintendo’s tree

Greenpeace’s latest electronics Guide to Greener Electronics environmental impact report is out and for the first year ever Nintendo is on the list! The billion dollar video game behemoth made quite the impression during its rookie season too, but I’ll let Greenpeace explain: Nintendo – New to the guide – first global brand to score zero across all criteria! Just to be clea...

Minna No Nintendo Channel First Impressions

So I had a long day at work and didn’t actually hear about the “Minna no Nintendo Channel” until I got home this evening. Immediately hearing the news I downloaded the channel so that I could see what the buzz was about and deliver it straight to the Infendo readers. When you log in, the channel gives you the same messages as the Mii Contest Channel (i.e. do you want to recieve m...
