Donkey Kong: Monster Truck screenshots

Look at those graphics!  Hard to believe it’s on Wii, right?  Well, that’s because it isn’t. Donkey Kong made his debut as a monster truck on Saturday, December 8, at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Fans in attendance had no idea they were about to see the unveiling of the newest truck on the Monster Jam circuit.  Before the event, the Donkey Kong t...

Reggie Fils-Aime, the anti-Wii bundler

Nintendo of America president Reggie FIls-Aime and I share a nuber of redeeming traits. We both are able to turn coal into diamonds using nothing but brute strength and our fists, for example (related note: Merry Xmas, babe!). We can also affect weather patterns worldwide using nothing but the white hot intensity of our personalities, which burn with the combined heat of a thousand suns. Oh, and w...

Nintendo and GameStop to issue Wii rain checks

Sick of heading to your local big box store on Sunday mornings?  Reggie Fils-Aime said that Nintendo will be partnering with GameStop to make rain checks available on December 20th and 21st.  Systems must then be picked up by January 29th. As long as GameStop doesn’t force you into a bundle, this sounds like a pretty good idea.  Too bad they didn’t implement it back in late October ...

Nintendo says Wii chat “just a peripheral issue”

In a group conference call I attended this morning, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime had this to say when asked if voice chat would be coming to Wii. “Our system has the capability for online voice chat, it’s just an issue of deciding on a peripheral. I would not be surprised to see Wii voice chat in the future.” I could be wrong, but I swear that was code for, “In time,...
