Castlevania Invades Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Castlevania is now in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

We hope you’re a Castlevania fan, because Simon Belmont AND Richter Belmont have just joined the ranks of Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Of course, as with any new addition, the characters are only part of the equation. The new Castlevania stage is jam-packed with monsters from the Castlevania series, including, obviously, Dracula.

Alucard will also make an appearance as a new assist trophy, and the number of Castlevania songs added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate is truly incredible.

Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont join an ever-growing roster of fighters in the upcoming Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which promises to have the most fighters of any Smash Bros game. How are they pulling this off? The plan is twofold, and it’s rather genius really.

A Belmont family reunion

Start with the fact that every character ever seen in the Smash Bros series is back – every single one. Then, add in a number of characters based off of an already existing one, for quick, easy development. These fighters were previously known as clones, but now take the official name of echo fighters. Richter Belmont is one such echo fighter, being based off of Simon Belmont (although Sakurai teases that really, either one could be the original or the echo fighter).

All in all, Ultimate is shaping up to be a truly awe-inspiring game for Smash Bros fans and Switch owners in general. It’s bound to move some systems when it launches in early December later this year. You can visit the official Smash website for all things Smash Bros.
