The big release this week is the budget title sequel to Endless Ocean for Wii. I think it’s the first WiiSpeak game Nintendo has released since Animal Crossing came out over a year ago. On the downloadable side of things, GhostSlayer sounds interesting as its the first WiiWare game I know of that uses MotionPlus. Of note: there are no Virtual Console games at all this week! That must mean ev...
According to the NHL 2K10 Wii description on Amazon: Enjoy online voice chat capabilities via WiiSpeak and precise one-to-one control with WiiMotion Plus Two peripherals at once?? I think the Balance Board could be a fun thing to slap under your feet during a hockey match, too. Oh well .. no hat trick! HA! I kill me. Anyway, has anyone played NHL 2K10 yet? [photo found here]
Hey Nintendo, I have already brought the lack of WiiSpeak use to your attention, but don’t miss this golden opportunity. Your company is putting out New Super Mario Bros for Wii this Fall. You haven’t announced on-line co-operative multiplayer, but you should. And when you announce it, you should also annouce the use of WiiSpeak with it. Doesn’t it just make sense?
Hey Nintendo – pictured above is the WiiSpeak peripheral that came with Animal Crossing six months ago. Can you please release another game that uses it? Or maybe talk to one of your eager 3rd party developers about it? Apparently The Conduit will use it, but The Conduit can also apparently grant wishes and emits a delightful floral scent. So anyway, please, WiiSpeak works great R...
Anyone with a Wii Speak and a coupon code can download the Wii Speak Channel for free. I grabbed it today and it looks pretty sharp. Weighing in at only 51 blocks, it allows you to setup chat rooms with other Wii Speak friends. It can also record messages and then send them to anyone in your Wii address book. It also has the ability to check with your friends to see if they have the Wii Sp...
I’ve been pretty Jealous of Japan’s Club Nintendo for a few years now. They get all these cool giveaways and items for sale that we Yanks only get to look at with puppy dog eyes over here in the States. Well, no longer. Club Nintendo is coming Stateside. We should have more details from the field as Sean reports back more from the Media Summit in San Francisco, but for now I’ll l...
Online retailer Amazon is now taking preorders for WiiSpeak. Nintendo’s first voice chat peripheral for online gaming, WiiSpeak was designed to contrast the industry’s standard headset. WiiSpeak captures several voices at once and is meant to connect groups of friends online. Perhaps consumers will have learned from Nintendo’s persistent hardware shortages over the last two years...
Another shot across the bow this morning to those who think WiiSpeak was just some gimmick developed by Nintendo so they could throw it on store shelves alongside Animal Crossing: City Folk and then forget about it (a la R.O.B.): “We’re always sharing information with the hardware group and all the teams within Nintendo so we can keep track of things. But in this case we were talking a...
