This Rayman Origins trailer will blow your mind

Rayman Origins really should be on your radar of upcoming games for this holiday season. For me, the game sits right up there with Skyward Sword and Super Mario 3D Land. With every video I see of the game, my anticipation just continues to grow. I mean check out that art style, the game is just oozing with pizazz. My only complaint with...

What do you think of this new Zelda Skyward Sword gameplay trailer?

It’s in Japanese, but there are some nice visual effects. I totally want to jump in that water fountain.

Which OTHER games are you looking forward to in 2011?

Most of us are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Zelda and Mario (on foot and kart) as the Holidays approach. Are any less-discussed 2011 games on your radar? I have a very short list, all on DS or 3DS, and all but one come with a big IF…. Professor Layton and the Last Specter (Oct. 17) — This one’s an instant buy for me. Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights (Dec. 6) —...

A New Wii color emerges….in Europe

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is getting a brand new bundle in Europe, including a fancy new sky blue Wii colour color. Looks fancy! I’m not exactly sure who this bundle is aimed at, as everyone and their grandmother who wants a Wii probably already has one. But look, its blue!! For any of our European readers out there, do you plan on picking this bundle up?

NES – Operation Wolf Operation Wolf was one of the first games I remember wanting to buy because I first played it at an arcade. Operation Wolf was ported to every console under the sun at the time, but only the NES and Sega Master System versions featured the all important light gun support. The game was brutally hard, as were ma...

Don’t tell me what you saw when you watched this Skyward Sword video, I don’t want to know

I sure hope you like the above cinematic for Skyward Sword. I even hope that you learned a little about the game because of it. As for me, am planning on staying far, far away. Yes, I may have uploaded the video for you all to enjoy, but honestly, I don’t want to know anymore about the game than I already do for the simple fact of...

My Zelda is __________ this big!!!

Nintendo PR folk are calling Zelda: Skyward Sword their biggest video game project ever. Some 50-100 hours of gameplay, according to Miyamoto. Here’s hoping the majority of it will deliver, and keep the masses engaged for more than the paltry 10% effort they usually put into these things. (wink, wink)

After 25 years, Zelda still has staying power

What’s the most-wanted game this holiday? According to Nielsen Research, it’s Modern Warfare 3. Not far behind, however, is Zelda: Skyward Sword at number six, the only game from the ’80s to make the top 20. In fact, it’s one of only two games from the ’80s or ’90s, the other being Madden Football. Not a big surprise, I know, but the staying power of Zelda still...

Nintendo has released a list of all the North American Wii million sellers

…and there are a ton of games on the list! Ok, so not all of the titles can be considered triple A. Zumba Fitness: Join the Party selling 1.42 million…really? But most titles that made the cut are most certainly deserving of being in your collection. A few surprises: Metroid Prime 3/Prime Trilogy not even making the list? Really North America?! Also, how is it that great party games li...

Based on research: Nintendo indie game fans are kind of screwed

I think this research done by Ron Carmel, co-creator of World of Goo, shows that Wii/DS/3DS/Wii-U owners are kind of screwed when it comes to future indie developer games on Nintendo platforms, especially if you look at this graph. Sure, his post is about developers migrating away from XBLA, but it goes on to show data that getting your game to market with Nintendo is extremely difficult (but st...

Nintentunes: Short but sweet edition

So as you may have noticed, I have been absent from the site this week and I’m here to tell you why. My girlfriend of five and a half years and I split up recently, so on top of moving and working, I have been trying to keep up with my studies and haven’t had much time to post. Now that I am all settled in and again have Internet access, I can’t wait to dive back in to the world ...
