Microsoft “fueling” industry growth, rips off Nintendo at E3 press conference

After showcasing spectacular games like Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5, Fable 2 and Gears of War 2, things took an abrupt turn toward the casual during the Microsoft E3 press conference. Much to our surprise, the company spent the majority of its time introducing new Wii-inspired 360 features. We expected to see Microsoft rip-off Nintendo, to be frank, but not to this extent.

Zoinks?! Kid Icarus Wii a no-show for E3?!

We are only an hour away from the Nintendo E3 press conference, and speculation has reached maximum overdrive. After divulging information to the contrary for weeks, IGN’s Matt Casamassina has slipped that the hotly anticipated Kid Icarus revival on Wii may not be coming at E3. GoNintendo has his quote: “Uh-oh. Looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer than E3 to see...

Remember this 2006 Wii Drum Demo? That’s just a taste of MotionPlus

I had almost forgotten this classic video of E3 2006 when this incredibly observant’and disruptive’little birdie that visits me from time to time pinged me with the link. This is how Nintendo will implement the MotionPlus accessory we wrote about this morning. 1:1 movement. A completely aware controller. Motion sensing. Waggle Plus. Wii Music. Given Nintendo’s strategy of bridge games and ex...

Don’t forget!  Tomorrow is Nintendo’s keynote at E3 and Infendo will be bringing you updates from the floor.  Other than the mysterious MotionPlus, what do you think Nintendo will unveil tomorrow?

Nintendo hasn’t been this quiet about its game lineup for 10 years

Or so says one analyst in speaking to Reuters on Thursday. “I’ve been covering this company since 1999. I’ve never been so unaware of what their big year-end titles are at this point in the year,” Credit Suisse analyst Jay Defibaugh said. They sure have everyone guessing these days, don’t they?

Why Apple App Store Will Force Nintendo’s Hand With a New DS

I just got finished reading Kotaku’s rather exhaustive list of the new iPhone games set to drop with the release of App Store, and I was left with one undeniable conclusion: Nintendo needs to update, upgrade or plain redesign the Nintendo DS, and soon.

Poll – new handheld system at E3

Consider this a sort of follow-up to last week’s poll.  Another rumor circulating is that Nintendo will give us a glimpse at a new handheld system.  So, what do you think? {democracy:50} Vote and then yak about it in our comments!

The new Zelda will be a step backwards in time

While skimming the paper in the Infendo HQ penthouse this morning I happened to glance at my television, my laptop, and Shigeru Miyamoto all in the same instant (he occasionally makes us breakfast). On Infendo there was Derek’s superbly written expose on the most anticipated Nintendo E3 announcements; on my TV was the Opera Wii Browser, with Malstrom’s news page pronouncing the end of ...

Bring ’em on; Infendo’s most anticipated Nintendo games for E3 2008

Dressed head-to-toe in glittering red, white and blue attire and rich with the overpowering scent of freedom and grilled hot dogs, July refuses to arrive quietly. Forget flipping the calendar page. July kicks down the door, blares Lynyrd Skynyrd records and sets off dangerous fireworks in crowded residential neighborhoods. July is so champ, even E3 wanted to be a part of it this year. The games in...
