Preemptive Predictions

Two analysts from Piper Jaffray have projected that Xbox 360 will lead the PlayStation 3 with system sales through 2008. The reason you should care about this is that they also said the 360’s userbase by then will be four times the size of Revolution’s. Kinda nuts if you ask me, when so many developers are psyched for Revolution’s prospects and so many are ditching the PS3. Furth...

Apparantly, NOA has released some network play details for Animal Crossing DS today. Here’s what we can expect: DS Local Area NetworkWhen players are within wireless range of other people who have Animal Crossing: Wild World, they can travel to one other’s towns. GBA Top Spin 2 Screens

Just in time for the Aussie Open, 2K Sports will be releasing Top Spin 2 for the DS and GBA. You can never have to many tennis games ’cause frankly there aren’t that many. I’ve been a fan starting with the original NES Tennis but since then it’s been one of the most underrated genres out there. Always a blast to play so be on the lookout November 14 for these two bad boys s...

With the launch of Nintendo’s wi-fi splash page, the company has the makings ready for their online system. What features do you hope they have when the system/site launches this November? Free never seemed so good…[Source: Nintendo] Thanks Chris!

Micro Impressions

Two days ago I bought myself a Game Boy Micro. At first I was kinda regretting it because it cost so much and I didn’t get any new games to play on it. The teeny screen took some serious getting used to after being weaned on the twice-its-size DS screens. Not to mention the buttons were smaller than I expected. After a while though, it started to click. The size and weight are just admirable...

I wish we had some US figures for you, but until then, these will have to do. From 9/19 – 9/25, the Micro dropped two spots from first in sales to third, slightly behind the PSP. Zelda Twilight Princess Thoughts

I just got done watching the Zelda: Twilight Princess trailer for about the umpteenth time. While it reminded me of the delay, it also made me realize that Nintendo probably did it with the game’s best interest in mind. Here’s why: I think it’s fair to say that Nintendo has already taken the spotlight from Microsoft’s pending 360 release in November, at least for now. But t...

BBC on The Revolution

Hear what BBC has to say about Nintendo’s Revolution and it’s competition in Europe. More of the same, but you can definitely get a sense for what our friends across the pond are thinking (at least the media). The article also points out the PSP’s success in the UK. How’s that favoring now? [Source: BBC]

Killer 7 Producer making Nintendo DS RPG

For fans of the dark Gouichi Suda that made Killer 7, Capcom is working on a new RPG for the DS. The game, entitled Contact, is said to have a lighter vibe that resembles Nintendo’s Earthbound and it will tell a different story on each of the handheld’s two screens. Contact will launch in Japan this February. Though likely, no word on a US release has been announced. What DS games are ...
