PETA using Mario likeness to fight KFC

Now this is some finger lickin’ good information. Apparently PETA is using the likeness of the New Super Mario Bros. to fight KFC. They’re a cute couple of chicks, but I don’t know if they’re going to be enough to discourage people from eating the headless, artificial chickens they breed at KFC these days. Anyway, Nintendo lawyers … attack!

R.O.B cameo in Smash Bros Brawl

That there, ladies and gentlemen, is R.O.B. making an appearance in Smash Bros. Brawl. It’s not quite the accessory-themed comeback I had hoped for, but it’s a start. It’s also not as cool as his appearance in Mario Kart DS, but maybe this is some kind of backhanded hint that you can unlock the ol’ boy as a playable character? Chooch in the comments updates us with Petey th...

The cities that love Nintendo’s WFC the most

According to Nintendo, the above cities have played more games on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (including both DS and Wii games) over the past two weeks than any others. Will someone please explain to me what is going on in Struthers, Ohio? The city only has 12,000 inhabitants??!!

Infendo Radio is on… eventually

Sorry everyone. After taking last week off, we show hosts had a difficult time connecting over the weekend between Scott’s plotting to become the next Dr. Evil and Kyle painting his basement. Podcast listeners hang tight! Kyle and I will have a freshly baked show in your RSS feeds later tonight (around midnight EST). Wait for it…

Why console sales numbers matter

The blokes at GamePro interviewed the NPD Groups’ David Riley to see why all those console sales numbers that get bandied about on Digg.com and other knee-jerk reaction sites really are important (hint: it’s not because without them, NPD wouldn’t get free press every month — strange, I know!). A sample: Given prior generation sales data, what predictions can be made about c...

Wired: “Buy Super Metroid, Jerks”

Wired’s Chris Kohler likes Super Metroid. A lot. Strangely, him and I are sort of in the same boat. I’ve never played Super Metroid but absolutely love Metroid: Zero Mission. Behold the persuasion: Virtual Console’s winning streak hits six weeks with the release of Super Metroid, aka One Of The Best Games Ever. I actually was late to the party on this one. I’d played Metroi...

Metroid Prime 3 gets its first perfect score

The upcoming issue of Nintendo Power allegedly gives Metroid Prime 3 a perfect 10/10 score based on the following: First Wii game that you couldn’t confuse graphically with last-gen Great artwork Incredible feeling of immersion Flawless level design; tons of freedom to explore but you always have the feeling that you’re at the right place at the right time. Sounds like the game does a ...

Eurogamer lauds Mario Galaxy in early preview

From the preview: When Shigeru Miyamoto suggested this week that games should be fun, it was easy to snigger and accuse him of stating the obvious. But Super Mario Galaxy proves his point to perfection: it’s amazingly, dizzyingly, idiotically fun, in a way few games are these days. We’re not going to call it a classic Mario yet – we simply haven’t seen enough of the game to...

Limited components to prolong Wii shortages

Bad news for those hoping to score a Wii before next year. Take it away, DigiTimes. Due to the tight supply of components such as IC chips and PCBs, Nintendo’s plans to expand production of its Wii games console, originally set for June, have been delayed, according to Taiwan-based component makers. With the delay of its plans, any easing of the Wii shortages in the worldwide market is unlik...
