Next week at E3, Nintendo will reveal their new home console which is rumored to be called Project Café. Many of Nintendo’s previous consoles had codenames – Wii was Revolution, DS was Nitro, GameCube was Dolphin, GBA was Project Atlantis, and N64 was Project Reality or Ultra 64. We want to know: {democracy:148}
In the latest edition of Iwata Asks, Satoru Iwata sits down with video game composers Koji Kondo and Mahito Yokota and talks about the soundtrack for the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo 3DS. As usual for Iwata Asks it is a very interesting read, but one part managed to grab my attention:
Nintendo just announced what many 3DS owners have been hoping for: Monday’s eShop launch will include two freebies: Pokedex 3D and Excitebike 3D. Check below for Eugene’s summary of Pokedex 3D: This sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and the price is certainly right! I’m particularly happy regarding this morning’s confirmation that the game will support AR viewing of you...
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) are rather notorious for leaking titles before they were ment to be revealed, and thanks to them we now have a good idea of what to expect for next week’s eShop launch. The ESRB website has rated Super Mario Land and Alleyway for the Nintendo 3DS, giving each a rating of E for Everyone. No price has been announced for either title. In other eSho...
…so says Nintendo, anyhow. How exactly is everybody going to be in the same place at the same time with 3DS in tow? Don’t worry, Nintendo has you covered! Nintendo has just launched a new online community website to help 3DS owners meet up and StreetPass to their hearts content. Sign up for the event by creating an account or even using Facebook connect and come June 25th, you could be...
My backlit GBA used to be babysitter blue. But thanks to a tip from Infendo reader richufc, it’s now jet black with all new buttons. The skinny: I bought what is seemingly an official replacement case from Hong Kong for dirt cheap: $4.30 with shipping. Bought a couple of drivers for $5 more smackers. Then followed doginmylense’s wonderful tutorial for navigating the more trickier par...
Nintendo today dropped the price of the DS Lite to $100, effective June 5. They’re also re-realeasing Mario games in red boxes, which have proven to help boost sales. As a reminder, it’s stuff like this that rubs independent publishers the wrong way, since Nintendo doesn’t allow them to release specially colored boxes.Â
As I was playing Wii Sports today getting in a little bowling action, I thought back to November 2006 when Wii was the hot new thing. Can you believe that it has been nearly 5 years since Nintendo unleashed motion controls onto the masses? The idea was so revolutionary that The Revolution was how we all came to know Wii….before Nintendo turned their console into a wiener joke of course. I ...
Derek and I argue over how crucial 3D is to 3DS gameplay, discuss depth sliders, answer 10 delicious listener questions, talk where do buy cheap second-hand games, e-shop expectations, Nintendo gimmicks (good and bad), Apple getting into gaming, and the phycological endowment effect of all things. We also debate whether Nintendo rushed 3DS so as not to step on Project Cafe’s toes. Get ready,...
It’s the weekend which can only mean one thing…it’s time for Nintentunes! This feature is for anyone who could instantly recognize the world 1-1 theme of Super Mario Bros. but who may be unable to do the same with the latest and greatest from Lady Gaga. Enjoy the classic tunes! NES-Wizards & Warriors Wizards & ...
This one’s a doozy. Coming from the Facebook page of  developer n-Space, concept art for Heroes of Ruin was spotted with info that the title will allegedly be a new 3DS title published by Square-Enix. The game will also feature a panther wielding a humongous sword. n-Space is best known for the Gamecube first-person adventure title Geist, and are also responsible for many of the Nint...
