Nintendo’s upcoming conference dubbed “new product presentation”

Or so says a Kotaku translation. Of course, “new product” could refer to games, a hardware revision, or an add-on product. Either way, should be fun to see what this impromptu conference brings. Any guesses?

What’s your favorite 3DS game not named Zelda?

Pilot Wings? Ridge Racer? Street Fighter IV maybe? Or perhaps Green Lantern? Let us know, people. This is important!

Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure Heads to 3DS in “early 2012”

Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure isn’t just a really long game title, it’s a really long game title for a game that happens to be for the 3DS. Sega looks to have a winner with Rhythm Thief, as it looks to have blended the best elements of Professor Layton and Rhythm Heaven. Here’s what Senior Vice Presid...

It’s raining classics!

The Ambassador NES games, as mentioned in the earlier post’s comments below, debuted ahead of schedule this morning! If you bought a 3DS before August 12, you’re now the proud owner of ten free NES games. What do you think? Awesome gameplay? Sprites a bit hard to see at that size? Which one’s your favorite? I’m leaving my sense of irony at the door (yes, it is funny that on...

A book you should read, and this is no strategy guide

Published August 4, 2011, authored by Jeff Ryan, that book is Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America. It contains a concise history of Nintendo’s efforts to find success in the American market. It’s a short read, and quite shallow, but it shouldn’t be missed by the hardcore Nintendo fan. Order the book on Amazon (or step into that strange building called the library). Read t...

Aliens: Infestation, the side-scrolling metroid-vania style action game from WayForward has gained quite a following since being outed by the Australian ratings board this May, and judging by the released gameplay trailers, it won’t disappoint. Will you buy this, or will you go with the default $50 package?

NES – Mega Man 6 Mega Man 6 was released toward the end of the NES life-cycle, and was largely overshadowed by series spin-off (the first of many many such spin-offs) Mega Man X which released just 3 months later for the SNES. Mega Man 6 is my favorite title in the series, mainly because of the off the wall Robot Masters that were...

Rollercoaster Tycoon barreling toward 3DS

Some people, like John Ivers of Indiana, have the guts and ingenuity to build a working rollercoaster in their back yard. For most folks, however, coaster construction is limited to virtual worlds, and Nintendo fans can soon join the fun if Atari and developer n-Space deliver on their recent announcement: Rollercoaster Tycoon is coming to 3DS. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is one of my top 3 favorite gam...
