Ubisoft wants to make two things abundantly clear — this game is being made by the same people behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and they are consulting the original, gritty comics for inspiration.

The publisher has released the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up, the upcoming Wii fighter featuring the heroes in a half-shell, in a bodacious PDF comic on the game’s official Web site.
As with any Turtles project, Smash-Up is being closely supervised by the fathers of the franchise. Co-creator Peter Laird is writing a story for the single-player mode, while Laird and Kevin Eastman’s Mirage Studios, the original comic’s publisher, is shaping the roster.
Only the Turtles and Splinter are confirmed so far, dudes.
