Nintendo UK has released a new trailer for the Wii U exclusive LEGO City Undercover. The new trailer shows off the various gameplay elements in this new sandbox-style LEGO world, where the game’s protagonist, Chase McCain, is tasked to take down a recently escaped criminal by the name of Rex Fury. Aside from the usual sandbox gameplay offerings, LEGO City Undercover’s newest trailer is certainly not short of comedic dialogue to enjoy. For example, a scene where Rex Fury is attempting to outrun LEGO City police via a lawnmower has that sense of the game not trying to be boggled down in its childish charm, yet take a humorous jab at car chases. One cannot help but admit the line, “Pull the lawnmower over” is a sample of what to expect in terms of parody and good-hearted humor.
Overall, LEGO City Undercover could have the makings of being a surprise hit (or possibly slight miss) for the Wii U, which needs more exclusive titles to fill the void before its competition starts creating some traction at the end of 2013.
LEGO City Undercover is currently slated for release in North America on March 18 for the Wii U.
