Why does the 3DS hate game saves?

I don’t know why, but the 3DS really hates game saves right now. Like before, this kind of thing is just silly. Is there really a logical justification for denying save resets?

Does your 3DS scratch itself or wobble when closing the lid?

Amazon thinks it might and has currently stopped selling the 3DS “because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it’s described.” They added, “We’re working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.” Nintendo acknowledged the news and told VentureBeat today they are also looking...

Tales of the Abyss 3D finally has an English trailer! Um…how do you turn on the Japanese dubs again?

Fresh from the San Diego Comic-Con comes the first English trailer for Tales of the Abyss 3D. The game seems to be fairly unchanged from the PS2 original aside from the new features exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS such as assignable touch screen artes selection and new 3D animations for mystic artes.  If you have already experienced...

Pokémon Rumble Blast will be blasting to a 3DS near you this October

There is a new Pokemon title coming exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS this October, but it isn’t of the RPG variety. Pokémon Rumble Blast will be released on October 24th allowing players to collect more than 600 kinds of toy Pokémon.  From the sound of things, Pokémon Rumble Blast will be more of an action game, featuring ...

3DS Netflix arrives and works great. Except for one thing…

Netflix hit the eShop today! After a quick download (free) and a couple of hours testing, I’m happy to report that the 3DS version of Netflix is fast, uses the dual screens well, and delivers–mostly–a very enjoyable, satisfying experience. Films and programs load briskly, and I experienced no buffering pauses during my viewing. The interface, very similar to the Wii version, allo...

Tetsuya Nomura says Kingdom Hearts 3DS is 40-50 percent done

Kingdom Hearts 3D (Dream Drop Distance) was one of the first titles announced along side the 3DS when Nintendo lifted the curtains last summer. In an interview with Famitsu, Kingdom Hearts director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura reveals that the 3DS title is currently 40-50 percent complete. Not much about the title is known at present, at Nomura was very coy with Famitsu giving vague hints...

Nintendo 3DS to receive Nintendo Video, Netflix

One of the most interesting features of the 3DS is its ability to play 3D video content. In the US, the only 3D video content to be found was a trailer for Green Lantern and a video feature jumping dogs. That is all about to change.

Super Mario 3DS to include more than just the Tanooki Suit

This months issue of Official Nintendo Magaize  UK (ONM) has an interview with Yoshiaki Koizumi that should excite long time fans of the Mario franchise. “I can’t reveal the actual number of power-ups in the game right now,” says Koizumi, “but suffice to say that we do try to include enough so that people can enjoy a variety of different kinds of play experiences in the title.”...

A great week for Virtual Consoles

3DS gets Kirby’s Dream Land and Wii gets Final Fantasy III (known as FF VI in Japan). Classic digital downloads rule the roost this week. I have to admit, the 3DS Virtual Console has surprised me. It was the one feature I thought I’d never use, and now I’m about to purchase my third title. There’s a moral here somewhere about gameplay over graphics, but let’s just mov...

Send Capcom a message: Don’t buy Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D

The reason: The game does not let you reset saved game data. Why? Presumably as a parlor trick to disuade used (or as I call them: pre-owned) game sales. But Capcom ambiguously says that’s not the case. “Secondhand game sales were not a factor in this development decision,” Capcom said in a statement to Giant Bomb. “This feature does not remove any content available for users.” But ...

Review: Just your average rice-cake streaking through a haunted spa game…

The eShop added a few new titles to its line-up this week, including Gameboy Tennis and a truly strange and funny little DSi platformer from Aksys Games Pro Jumper! Chimaki’s Hot Spring Tour! Guilty Gear Tangent!? puts you in the role of Chimaki the living rice cake. At the beginning of each level, Chimaki staggers home (presumably from his job as a minor sight-gag in the Guilty Gear games) ...
