Slippy, Peppy, Fox and Falco–are they the Beatles of Nintendo’s universe? In that case, Slippy’s Ringo (and wouldn’t he be more tolerable with Ringo’s voice?) When I opened today’s email from Nintendo and saw this image staring me in the face–accompanied by a tag line that tells me NOA understands the great nostalgia fans feel toward this title–I couldn’t wipe the silly grin off my face for a couple of minutes. I cannot wait. In the meantime, check out the official web site, which is well-done even in its unfinished preview state!
Anyone else looking forward to this game as much as I am? What’s your favorite world? (I love the giant mothership dogfight on Katina.)

Yeah that level was cool (a la Independence Day)…
“All range mode…”
Aah the good old days…

I love this game so much, it’s probably the best flight shooter of all time. I haven’t played it since the N64 days, so I’m gonna really enjoy getting back into it!

That looks cool, looking forward to playing that game.

Sector Z is probably the most memorable for me. You’ve been doing your best to protect the Great Fox from the ambush staged by the enemy, and the well-being of the team as a whole depends on the Great Fox’s survival. All of a sudden, three missiles are seen approaching the Great Fox. The odds are stacked against you… that is, until, Kat steps into the scene. Or Bill, depending on how you got to Sector Z. If you fail, Great Fox does not recover from the missile’s impact, with a big black scar in place of where a wing once stood even at the end credits. Phew, now that’s some pressure!

I love Starfox 64 a lot. Its probably my most played N64 game. However that’s the problem, I’ve played it so many times! Its really hard for me to get excited again. Now if it had online multiplayer that would be a different story and I would be totally excited since I’ve always dreamed about an awesome online Starfox game. I’m still buying it day 1 though XD
