Postmortem: As excited for NSMB Wii as you were before launch?

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Confession time: New Super Mario Bros. Wii underwhelmed as a Mario game. Unlike every other Super Mario game, player movement is sluggish. And despite its namesake, it was obviously absent the day Miyamoto was handing out “new.” To be fair, I haven’t finished it. And it does some fresh little things, like multiplayer and the propeller suite. But overall, I find it lacking, at least when compared to its legendary single-player heritage. Tell me I’m wrong.
