What does Nintendo need to bring to E3?

Sony and Microsoft both have next gen consoles on the way. Soon. This much we know for sure. As for whether or not they will be show stoppers and garner enough support to take whatever momentum the Wii U has gained in the last few months remains to be seen. Nintendo can control their own destiny with a good showing at E3 and beyond. What should Nintendo bring to the table? Read on to hear my thoug...

Lakitu Upset As Iwata Says No To Cloud Gaming

During a recent investment question and answer session, Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata stated that he finds it strange that people think that cloud gaming is the wave of the future.  In fact, he feels that it could hurt the gaming industry, especially action based games that would be hurt by the lag. Iwata had much to say on the subject.  Hit the jump for his quotes:

How would you change the Wii U?

Patches. Updates. Firmware. All of these words are usually met with disdain for gamers, as usually they go hand in hand with lengthy downloads and/or broken features that need fixing. With the latest Nintendo Direct, we learned that the Wii U would receive not just one, but two firmware updates in the next couple of months. Although the update will indeed take away from our precious game-time, let...

Would You Play Your 3DS Games On Your Wii U?

What if you could play your 3DS games on your Wii U?  Would it appeal to you? David Delisle knew the possibility was out there.  The Game Pad would act as the bottom touch screen, and the TV would act as the top screen.  So, he developed a device that he calls the EDS.  Similar to the adapter that allowed Gameboy cartridges to be played on the Super Game Boy, this device would connect to the Wii U...

How would you change the Zelda Franchise?

In Last week’s Nintendo Direct, Eiji Aonuma discussed that one of the driving forces for the new Zelda on Wii U is to rethink the conventions of the Zelda franchise. To me, Zelda is the best gaming franchise pound for pound, but I would certainly like to see Zelda Wii U change in a few areas. How would you change the Zelda Franchise? My thoughts are below.

Hardest Mario Level Ever!

Lego City Undercover Limited Edition Bundle

Fans of the Lego series will be excited to find that the Limited Edition Bundle will include both the game and  LEGO mini figure of Case McCain.  As ling as there is not a price difference, I think it is a pretty cool inclusion to the game.  However, It would be pretty cool to see a six inch version, or a mini playset. What are your thoughts on the bonus? Hit the jump for the full press release:

Nintendo Third-Quarter Financial Results

As posted below, Nintendo’s 2012 wasn’t exactly bringing in coin like Mario swimming in Scrooge McDuck’s money pool, but it did have a few victories along the way. Nintendo’s third-quarter financial results are in, covering the first nine months of its fiscal year (through December 31st).  The 3DS hardware did see a sales increase (up 11% Year on year), and the software saw...

The state of Nintendo, and how the company will fare in 2013

Nintendo didn’t exactly have a banner year in 2012. After what I consider to be a very successful 2011 what with the launch of a new console and the release of a fantastic Zelda title, 2012 just didn’t live up to expectations, even with the launch of a new console in the Wii U. With that said, the Wii U and 3DS seem to be really hitting their stride, and it seems as if this year could ...
