I don’t believe you beat Bubble Man’s stage with your eyes closed.
I want you to videotape it and post it on YouTube so we can make sure you’re not kidding us.
Oh my god, no joke, I was totally playing Mega Man 2 yesterday in preparation for Monday (finished the 8 robot masters and quit, to go play Mega Man 5 so I could hear Star Man’s awesome stage theme)! Awesome to know I’m not the only one. ;D
*explodes* I’m way too excited for MM9. This is seriously my tentpole title for the year. For the first time in years, I won’t have a clue which level to pick first, and that makes me absolutely giddy.
Anyway, Airman is a pain, but he’s nothing compared to Quick Man. In my opinion, Quick Man is the absolute hardest Mega Man robot master across the series and all of its millions of branchoffs. The fact of the matter is, I’m always out of Flash Stopper by the time I get to him because I used it just to survive his stage. It’s almost ironic.
OK, so I was lying! I beat the stage, eyes OPEN. You got me.
However, anyone else from the NES era notice that when playing these types of games after a long break you get right back into a groove and remember all the little secrets and techniques without even thinking about it?
Yeah, ah, I played this game a lot back in the day…
I know what your talking about Jack. Just last week I downloaded Super Mario Bros. 3 and I remembered every secret and trick there was to that game, even though it has been over 10 years since I had played the game. My wife gave me the ‘your such a geek’ look (married gamers will know what I’m talking about).
@ Jack: Yes, I know exactly what you mean. And even though I remember all of the nooks and crannies of the game, it’s still fun to go back and play. For me, the classic Mega Man series (well, 1-6 and sometimes 8, but not 7) never gets old.
I know what you’re talking about. Twelve years ago I had Link’s Awakening DX but I played that game so much the cart died. When I recently got another copy I popped that bad boy in my GBC and beaten that game in 5 hours because I knew where EVERYTHING was.

Airman was the best.

Airman blows (see what I did?!?!).
Gimme Crash & Flash. (I can see a sitcom with them sharing a small 2 bedroom apartment in Seattle).

we have the same tv! (isn’t it annoying that the second input screws with the sound when not using it?)

Davey, while I’m not married, I understand “the look” quite well.
I really can’t wait to see what Megaman 9’s reception will be like. I’m still unsure about whether to jump for it or not but we’ll see.
