Video Games as Commercials?

We have all seen the strategic product placement in TV and movies.  Who could forget Reese’s Pieces in E.T., or Coke in Mac and ME.  But what about product placement in video games?

Some games have some fairly subtle placement such as Castro Gt in EA’s Need for Speed.  Others are not so subtle…

Take the SNES Cheeto’s Chester Cheetah: Too Cool to Fool, or Atari’s Kool Aid Man game.  I have to say that my favorite, so far, was Cool Spot, the 7Up mascot.  It was actually a pretty fun side scroller for the Sega Genesis.  I also enjoy Dorito’s Crash Course on the Xbox 360.

Do you have a favorite Advertisement game, or do you despise the thought?
