Man makes NES rumble controller

It doesn’t always rumble when you’d expect it to, given the NES’s limited control cycles. But it rumbles! (via Joystiq)

“Today’s kids are soft”

From an email forward (thanks, Josh): Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn’t work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message board or FAQ’s. We just figured it out. Today’s kids are soft. Bonus: While...

NES controls that stand the test of time

In December, Game Informer named The Legend of Zelda “the greatest game of all time” on their Top 200 list. Latest “Top 10 NES games” is pretty good

Mario 3 appropriately takes the top spot. And there are a couple of surprises. But a part of me died inside not seeing either Punch-Out or Kirby’s Adventure make the list. Bastards!
