CAD: Wiimote takes out last remaining Wii joke

Sure I shuddered a bit when the name was first announced, but when you think about it, only 10-year-olds and really insecure older folk actually associate the word “Wii” with peeing or the the places where pee comes from. It was childish then, and it’s just plain sad now. Ctrl-Alt-Del takes out the holdouts.

Nintendo sound block fun

“Straight from the Mario Brothers’ private collection comes these Sound Blocks. There are three different versions (Mario, Fire Mario, and Luigi). Each one has four sounds randomly played when you press down on their head. All three figures play: coin sound, jump, and items coming up from a block.” Aww, just like some the Infendo crew. Push down on my head and a long winded post ...

Meet Mario, the billionaire

Mario, that plucky, timeless plumber, has made the Forbes Fictional 15. What’s that you say? Why, it’s a list of the wealthiest fictional characters from around the world that Forbes puts together because they apparently can’t find enough to do with themselves. Mario, one of the freshman in the list, weighs in at #15. Mustachioed Italian plumber leaps onto Fictional 15 after deca...

Everybody Votes: "By this time next year, I will be…" with video game personalities

The voting channel is perhaps the least liked of all the current Wii Channel fare because, well, it’s kind of campy and doesn’t do much of anything. The current “question” up for vote at the Everybody Votes Channel is “By this time next year, I will be”¦” with “Better off” and “The same/worse off” as the choices. That said, I thought it’d be fun to go outside the channel̵...

GDC: Fils-Aime owns Harrison

Chris Kohler, Game|Life: Waiting for the Miyamoto keynote to start, I’m sitting three rows from the front. Close enough to see Nintendo’s resident BMOC, Reggie Fils-Aime at the front of the crowd, working it with his trademark smile and good will. He poses for pictures, he signs Wiimotes, he presses the flesh with a good natured ease that would make even the most seasoned politician we...
