Here’s an random theory to bounce around your brains: Nintendo was relieved to see 360 and PS3 games come out at $60 a pop because it meant they could continue to charge $50 for their console’s titles. What I’m getting at is whether or not Wii games would be worth $50 if software for 360 and PS3 cost the same amount. Share your thoughts about this random theory in comments!
This may surprise some people and not others, but Nintendo is the second most valuable company in Japan right now, just behind automaking behemoth Toyota. Reuters: Nintendo Co Ltd roared past Canon Inc to become Japan’s second most valuable tradable company behind Toyota Motor Corp this week as investors bet demand for its Wii and DS machines will remain strong into the critical year-end sho...

Stay away from the Internet today. Why? Well, Nintendo has allegedly dialed back its Wii and DS supply in Japan, and the weekly sales totals are smaller than they have been in quite a while. With this in mind, you’ll be able to deftly dodge, duck and barrel roll yourself past all the spin and fanboy nonsense today that says Nintendo’s Ivory Tower is crumbling and will soon collapse und...

The latest chart from VG Chartz shows us that Wii has outsold the Xbox 360 and PS3, worldwide. While that’s exciting and a little earlier than expected, the real point of interest is that Wii has sold nearly as many units in the Americas as the PS3 has worldwide. What should Sony learn from the current state of their console sales?
The blokes at GamePro interviewed the NPD Groups’ David Riley to see why all those console sales numbers that get bandied about on Digg.com and other knee-jerk reaction sites really are important (hint: it’s not because without them, NPD wouldn’t get free press every month — strange, I know!). A sample: Given prior generation sales data, what predictions can be made about c...

Video Game Chartz has their Top Ten software sales chart for America online and I can’t help but notice that 7 of the 10 are DS and Wii games. The three games that aren’t Nintendo releases are all Guitar Hero related. This will most likely change with Bioshock coming out this week, so do you think Nintendo’s recent domination will take a back seat to the big titles coming out f...
