As promised the next ‘3D Mario’ was announced during Nintendo’s E3 Direct. The aptly named ‘Super Mario 3D Word’ continues on from the 3DS title ‘Super Mario 3D Land’ into HD on the Wii U.
For the first time ever in a 3D Mario game, you can now play with your friends – all in main roles (who could of predicted?). Up to 4 players can play at any one time, and from the footage shown so far. Each character will handle differently unlike in the New Super Mario series. The Playable characters are Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach. You can also choose any character in 1 player.
A new ability was also shown off, the new cat power, again like 3D Land the new power takes a prominent place on the logo itself. Cat Mario (or Cat Peach, Cat Luigi, Cat Toad) can run up walls and poles, introducing some new gameplay and level design features.
