Gabe Newell, co-founder of Valve spoke to Joystiq today at New York’s Games for Change Festival and had good things to say about Wii U. Seeing as how Valve has never released a game on a Nintendo console, this should be welcome news to Nintendo fans.
“Wii U seems to be a lot more powerful than the previous generation. It sort of fits better into the scalability in terms of graphics performance and CPU performance, so I think it’ll be a lot easier for us to fit it into our scalability model.”
“We’ve always loved Nintendo. Now it’s a lot easier to look at Wii U and have it fit within that framework.”
The more third parties on board the Wii U bandwagon the better, I say. Although this is absolutely not a confirmation of Half Life 3 on Wii U, imagine what the creative geniuses at Valve could do with the Wii U tablet controller!
What Valve titles would you like to see make use of the unique features of Wii U?
