It’s official. Electronic Arts today said they will, in fact, publish a remake of the Mortal Kombat of sporting games, aka the highly addictive NBA Jam, this year for Wii.
“Diehard fans of the original have been asking for a remake for more than a decade,” said Peter Moore, president of EA Sports, seemingly forgetting about the Xbox remake released in 2003 (pictured). “We’re excited to give them their wish this year.”
EA claims the remake will be similar to the original, only with “true-to-life body types, updated physics, and visible player emotion.” Without releasing screenshots, they also promised additional game modes, characters, and more depth.
