As I was reading the latest post over at The Wiikly, I found this gem from Nintendo Past: What is rare in the technology world is a product line than can maintain its dominance. If you do that for five years, it’s called amazing. if you succeed for a decade, it’s called unprecedented. but if you do it for 15 years, you can only call it one thing: Game Boy.– Reggie Fils-Aime Speec...
Just in time for Halloween, Capcom will release a special 10th anniversary Resident Evil collection for the GameCube on October 24. The title includes Resident Evil (the remake), Resident Evil Zero, and Resident Evil 4 together in one package for a price of $39.99. The special will only be available through EB Games and GameStop stores. I love zombies.
Any logical gamer and Nintendo enthusiast probably already excepts the Wii as a more powerful GameCube with a totally new interface. Well now we hear the same straight from the mouth of Miyamoto during an interview: “The hardware is basically a GC. We’ve upgraded our development tools to new versions but, you can still use GC programs as they are. With that in mind, I thought we could ...
OK Infendo readers, it’s homework time. You’re going to do some research. I’ve read Nick’s post on controller pricing, and I have to say I agreed with it for the most part: Wii controller plus the nunchaku attachment is going to be $60, and that’s pricey. However, I’ve had some time to chew it over, and after reading an interesting comment left by some guy named...
Mmm… Triforce pizza.
Apparently comsumers aren’t the only ones who think the Wii’s controller pricing scheme is outrageous. A blogger named Kim Pallister was talking with some developers at the Tokyo Game Show and noted a particular comment: “Nintendo’s mistake is the high price of the second controller, which is expected to cost around $65 (controller + nunchuk + tax). That’s around 25% ...
Back at E3, Disaster: Day of Crisis was one title that really stuck out for me personally. Wikipedia reports that the game is being developed for Wii as part of Nintendo’s initiative to create new franchises. Disaster is being developed by Monolith Soft which staffs several former Square employees and will be published by Nintendo at an unspecified time. From the game synopsis: “Surviv...

Reuters is reporting that Nintendo raised their 2006/07 net profit estimates by 20% in the wake of strong DS sales and high Wii anticipation. From the article: “Nintendo, which trails its rivals going into this holiday season’s console war but is the only of the three to say it will turn a profit on its machines from the start, has won praise for its gutsy and contrarian tactics as it ...

In today’s financial news, we have Nintendo kicking ass and taking names… again, and it’s all because of that shiny white beauty the Nintendo DS. I think even god must have one by now, because I could have sworn I spied Ken Kuturagi hammering away at Cooking Mama between PS3 pressers the other day. The man loves cartoony cooking games almost as much as he does dropping bombastic,...
