I’m “vacationing” from Infendo this week due to the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in foggy, cold and generally miserable San Francisco, but a keynote from this morning drove me back into the Infendo fold, if only briefly. While talking about data centers and virtualization and all manner of skull numbing technology fare today, Amazon’s CTO Werner Vogels gave a shout out of...

Continuing what is turning out to be box art week here at Infendo, some great new box art was released today for Super Mario Galaxy and Battalion Wars 2. Click the covers to see them larger. You like?
The recently released Wave Race 64 for the Virtual Console has been updated to include Wii and DS ads. I’m not pointing fingers or naming names, but didn’t they tell us that the classic games would go unaltered? I’m assuming they removed the old Kawasaki ads. What’s next, the Burger King mascot in the 64 version of Smash Bros? [Check out Wii Fanboy for more pix.]
There are some very creative ‘hacker apps’ coming out for the iPhone already. Not sure if it’ll play Doom yet, but a creative person came up with a way to play classic NES games on their iPhone. The touch control game pad is hot, but doesn’t seem very practical. [Via TUAW]
Woke up to my Wii slot flashing this morning. A message on my Wii message board said that an update is available. The note from Nintendo said that the update contained an update to the Forecast Channel display on the main Wii Menu that would show the weather in my area. Also, the Wii Shop Channel now has a search function! After updating my Wii from firmware version 2.2U to 3.0U, I noticed the For...
North America                                  Japan The official North American cover art for The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has been released. Personally, I find the Japanese cover art much more appealing. Which do you prefer?
Now that’s what I call solid game design. [Thanks, Tim]
Having recently switched from SD to HD using $6 Wii component cables purchased from a Hong Kong Ebay store, I must say I’m truly impressed with Wii’s visuals. Mario Strikers Charged looks positively gorgeous in 480p wide screen, and I exhort any who can make the jump to do so as soon as your wallet permits. It’s a whole new world. So we ask you, Infendoites: {democracy:13}
Here’s a round-up of new games available this week for Nintendo systems in North America: DS Pet Alien Mega Man Star Force: Dragon Mega Man Star Force: Leo Mega Man Star Force: Pegasus Wii Boogie I’m loving the art style of Boogie, but I don’t think my neighbors would appreciate hearing my rendition of Brick House. Plus, Mario Strikers Charged is consuming my every thought thes...
Three new titles show up in the Wii Shop Channel today: Wave Race 64 – N64 Take to the waves on your own personal watercraft and experience some of the best water effects in video game history. Get good enough and you might even be able to ride a dolphin-just don’t get seasick. Adventures of Lolo – NES This was the first game in the Eggerland puzzle series to be released in North...
So today when I booted up Otona no DS: Face Training for the second time, I was greeted with a message saying that a “test mode” was now available from the main screen. Apparently the facening test I took last time was just that: a test to determine my expressive prowess, and not an actual “facening” exercise routine. Having done the initial test before, I was free to take ...
