Quick question: Nintendo’s spot at GameStop?

I bought a used copy of Phoenix Wright for my flight out to San Francisco earlier this week, but before I bought it I noticed something: Wii and DS were at the front of the store. Both of the front columns were filled with Wii peripherals, games, empty console boxes (still sold out), DS stuff and games, and used games for both systems. Question is, when did this happen? I know it happened over in ...

Metroid 3: The hype is here (you’re just not a part of it anymore)

I seriously think that the video game media, as it exists today, needs to stop trying to predict what Nintendo’s going to do for a while. Instead, what they need to do is start taking some real notes, pay attention, and do some research. We’ll all be better off when that happens. Until then, Nintendo seems content to basically not give a flying focker. And that seems to be working out ...

Wii sales will overtake Xbox 360 in September

Worldwide sales numbers are in and it’s clear that Wii will overtake Xbox 360 next month.  The overall sales are obviously boosted by Japan, who have bought nearly 8 times as many Wii systems as Xbox 360. Is Wii going to be the PS2 of this generation?

Nintendo Spotting: From the bowels of LinuxWorld edition

Yeah, so there was Wii at LinuxWorld. Not too newsworthy, but it was still super cool to see yet another Nintendo reference at the geekfest that is LinuxWorld 2007.

Chibi Robo: Park Patrol – Walmart exclusive?

GameSpot checked in with Nintendo for an update on Chibi Robo: Park Patrol for DS. They got an interesting response: Chibi Robo: Park Patrol will launch October 2. The game, which features an adorable miniature robot who wants to clean up the environment, will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart stores nationwide. I’m not the biggest Walmart fan, but I’m definitely glad to hear the ga...

Boogie gets review of 80, 30 on the same day

Without having played the game, this is looking like it could be another Excite Truck in terms of widely varying review scores. I’m actually laughing inside. Not a creepy Dr. Evil laugh; just a little chuckle.

Nintendo to release Metroid, Super Metroid this month?

Rumor has it that both Metroid and Super Metroid are on their way to the virtual console in the coming week. Scoop me Kotaku! With Metroid Prime 3: Corruption just a few short weeks away from release on the Wii, it looks like Nintendo is set to ramp up with hype with a pair of Virtual Console releases. Images for both Metroid for the NES and Super Metroid for the SNES have appeared on the VC web s...

Nintendo Spotting: LinuxWorld edition

I have no idea who or what Optinuity does, but I do know that they’re giving away a Wii an hour at LinuxWorld today.
