This live action Phoenix Wright movie should come to America, but alas, it most likely won’t

First footage of the Japanese Phoenix Wright movie have hit the interwebs, and movie looks surprisingly accurate to the video game counterpart. If only I could speak Japanese because, yeah, this DEFINITELY not coming stateside. You can take that to the bank. Regardless, it’s pretty cool to see one of my favorite DS franchises give...

Final Wii U design will be shown at E3 2012, Nintendo taking steps to not follow in the 3DS’s footsteps

With this year’s financials out for Nintendo, it has been plain to see that the company is in a bit of a lull. Iwata has said so himself stating “As we learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, we are trying to take every possible measure so that the Wii U will have a successful launch.” Popular conjecture would say that this is because of a lack of quality titles on eith...

Iwata and Nintendo think 3DS is on the right track for success, set gameplan for 2012 and beyond

Nintendo has heard your (and mine) cries and pleas for new game content on 3DS, that is if you believe what Mr. Iwata has said to investors in the company’s quarterly financial results briefing. Iwata even goes as far as to say that preparations are being made with third-party publishers to ensure that a ”˜continuous stream of Nintendo 3DS games will be released next year.’

Which are you more excited to play: New Mario or new Zelda?

In just two weeks, you’ll be able to play the newest Mario game on 3DS, Super Mario 3D Land. A week later, Zelda: Skyward Sword arrives on Wii. Of everything you’ve seen so far, which are you most excited to play? Since the games are separated by only a week, something is going to take a back seat. Which will it be in your home?

Some guy on the internet: “3DS will be $99 soon and likely discontinued”

PROLOGUE: If you think everyone should share your view of reality, or if you become enraged when encountering a difference of opinion, I advise you to skip this post. In other words, hang on, Nintendo fans. This is gonna hurt: Nintendo is expected to pull a Netflix and and pile on even more crap numbers this Thursday, adding to the already crappy quarterlies they’ve posted over the last ...

This PC mod should have your attention if you like real time strategy and are a Zelda fan

Have you wanted to play an RTS version of Zelda before? Yeah me neither until I watched this awesome video. Turns out some entrepreneuring Zelda fans have turned the great Medieval 2: Total War into something even better by adding characters from the Zelda franchise into the game. Seeing as Medieval 2: To...

Who feels like they need a plastic racing wheel for their 3DS? [update]

Nintendo is planning a new scheme to make money peripheral for it’s newest handheld the 3DS, and it happens to be rather familiar. In fact, it happens to be the same peripheral that launched with a previous game of the same name, Mario Kart.  Mario Kart 7 will receive an officially licensed steering wheel from Nintendo 3rd party steering wheel from Hori this winter for the 3DS. While th...

Did you know? Zelda was originally called “Hyrule Fantasy”

To get you more hyped than you already are for Zelda’s next romp on Nov. 20, read that and other 1986 factoids at Zelda Universe. Thanks, Cody

Buy a Wii, get a Mario game and the wrong soundtrack

Nintendo doesn’t sell the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack to North American Club Nintendo fans (or iTunes patrons or pretty much anyone in the States), but–as of last Sunday–they’re happy to give it away to casual late Wii buyers. And it’s not even paired with the game it belongs with! Perhaps NOA is hoping Joe and Wanda Casual will listen to the CD, fall in love with t...

Professor Layton and the Last Specter review: The weakest game in the series is still a blast to play

This puzzle adventure had some pretty big shoes to fill, yet I’d hoped Professor Layton and the Last Specter would somehow top the excellence of last year’s Layton game, Unwound Future. That didn’t happen. What I experienced was 15 hours of great puzzles (with more content available for extended play), charming atmosphere and top-notch production values. The only thing missing wa...

What’s full of great music and rhymes with Metapod’s cocoons?
