The 3DS gets a redesign: What the next iteration of 3DS needs to get right.

The 3DS just celebrated its first birthday last month, and the numbers don’t lie. Year one, 17.08 million units sold. That’s nothing to sneeze about. Couple that in with the five games that have already reached the million sales mark and it’s plain to see that Nintendo’s fifth generation handheld is a running success. There are plenty of games on the horizon, and I would be...

Wii U: MMORPG’s New Home?

We seem to know so much, and too little about the next evolution of the Nintendo Entertainment System.  The rumors are spreading like Mono at a high school prom.  Many game developers have expressed their excitement towards the console and seem to tout the potential for the new device.    Ubi Soft has stated: “We have big plans for Wii U. Our intention is to be the number one third party on Wii U,...

The Case for an Achievement System on Nintendo Consoles

I admit it. I’m an achievement junkie. Well, to be clear, I’m a trophy junkie, since I own a PS3, but “achievements” is the more common term. It’s fun to see what I have accomplished in the games I’ve played and it’s also fun to see what my friends have pulled off. The problem is that I’m just not as passionate about Playstation games as I am about Nintendo games. This is why I would like to see a...

Kid Icarus Uprising fans eager to expand their collection of battling AR cards can get a boost from this month’s Nintendo Power. A report published from the Japanese publication The Nikkei states that Apple, not Nintendo, Sony, or even Microsoft, is officially the top consumer brand in all of Japan. This is the first time that Apple has claimed the top spot in the Land of the Rising Sun with a a score of 90.5 (out of 100) in terms of total brand power. T-shirt of the day: Mount Playmore

Busted Tees recently unveiled a clever Nintendo-themed Mount Rushmore t-shirt for their online catalog that features Mario, Donkey Kong, Samus, and Link immortalized in stone (or in cloth and print to be more exact). The design itself is sure to make many (including myself) ponder, “If there was a Mount Rushmore for video game characters or designers, what four would grace it?” This qu...

Infendo Radio: The technical difficulty edition

This week lots of things went wrong. Took me longer than expected to edit the podcast, I still haven’t figured out how best to upload the podcast to you fine folks, I went out to the local brewery one too many times. All this adds up to delays, and delays are bad. I intendo (see what I did there?) to make it up to you. Chris and I have vowed to record another podcast this week, and I hope to...
